이 연구에서는 우리나라 국어 교과서 개발에 대한 시사점을 얻기 위해 미국 국어 교과서에 제시된 범교과적 쓰기 활동의 특징을 검토하였다. 미국 국어 교과서에는 범교과적인 제재가 풍부하며, 다른 교과와 연계된 활동들이 제시되어 있고, 범교과적 쓰기 활동이 다양하다는 점이 특징이다. 범교과적 쓰기 활동을 검토해본 결과, 쓰기 수행 과정에서 범교과적 제재에 포함된 풍부한 정보를 활용하도록 유도하고 있었다. 또한, 쓰기 활동과 다른 교과 학습 내용을 연계하는 활동을 제시하여 교과 문식성을 향상시킬 수 있는 기회를 제공하였다. 마지막으로, 다른 교과 특정쓰기 활동을 통해 학문 문식성을 향상시킬 수 있는 기회를 제공하였다. 향후 국어 교과와 다른 교과가 연계된 방식으로 범교과적 쓰기 교육이 이루어져야 하며, 국어 교과서에도 이를 반영한 범교과적 쓰기 활동이 구성되어야 한다.

This study examines the characteristics of the cross-curricular writing activities presented in American English Language textbooks in order to gain implications for the development of Korean textbooks. American English Language textbooks are rich in cross-curricular sanctions, exhibited activities linked to other subjects, and characterized by diverse cross-curricular writing activities. As a result of reviewing the cross-curricular activities, we were able to utilize the rich information contained in the comprehensive curriculum during the writing process. In addition, it provided an opportunity to improve the content area literacy of the text by suggesting activities that link writing activities with other curriculum contents. Finally, it provided an opportunity to improve academic literacy through other subject-specific writing activities. In the future, cross-curricular writing education should be done in a way that Korean subjects are connected with other curriculum, and cross-curricular writing activities should be composed in Korean textbooks.
