이 연구는 독서 감상문 평가의 체계적인 탐색을 위해 평가를 직접 수행하는 학습자의 측면에서 중학생의 독서 감상문 수행 양상을 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 학습자 측면에서 독서 감상문에 대해 탐색하는 것은 평가 대상인 학생들의 특성을 진단할 수 있게 해주어 평가 및 지도 방안에 대한 논의를 진행할 수 있게 해 준다. 이를 위해 중학교 학생 200명을 대상으로 독서 감상문 평가 요소별 학습자의 수행 양상 및 성별에 따른 수행 양상, 수준에 따른 수행 양상을 분석하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 평가 요소 중 ‘표현 및 어법(3.66점)’의 점수가 가장 높았으며, 그 다음으로 ‘감상(3.10점)’, ‘조직(2.96점)’, ‘이해(2.88점)’, ‘평가(2.61점)’의 순으로 나타났다. 둘째, 성별로는 여학생이 남학생보다 독서 감상문을 더 잘 수행하는 것으로 나타났다(t=-3.78, df=198, p<.05). 셋째, 수행 수준에 따라서는 상-중-하 집단의 수준 차이가 뚜렷한 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구는 학습자 특성을 반영하여 보다 타당한 독서 감상문 평가 설계를 할 수 있는 기초를 제공하였으며, 현재 중학생의 독서 감상문 수행 양상에 대한 진단을 토대로 독서 감상문 지도내용을 추출할 수 있는 기반을 마련하였다는 데 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the aspect of performance of middle school students’ book reports in order to systematically search the assessment of book reports. This search allows us to discuss the evaluation and guidance methods by diagnosing the characteristics of the students to be evaluated. To do this, 200 students of middle school were analyzed by aspect of learners performance according to evaluation factors of book reports, gender, and students’ levels. The results are as follows. First, 'expressions and grammars (3.66)' was the highest score among the evaluation factors, followed by 'appreciations (3.10)', 'structures (2.96)', 'understandings (2.88)', 'evaluations (2.61). Second, it is found that female students perform book reports better than male students by gender. Third, according to the performance level, the level difference between the upper - middle - lower group was clear. This study provided the foundation for more valid book reports assessment by reflecting learner characteristics.
