극 문학 교육에 관한 연구의 양은 많지 않다. 이에는 극 문학이 본래적으로 가지는 속성이 작용한 바가 크다. 극 문학은 문학인 동시에 공연물로서 향유된다. 이러한 특성을 극 문학의 본질로서 언어성, 심미성, 재현성, 간접성으로 개념화할 수 있다. 이 가운데 극 문학이 공연으로서 재현성을 가진다는 점이 극 문학을 하나의 장르로 성립시키는 핵심적 요소이다. 극 문학은 문학교육의 내용일 뿐 아니라 교육 방법으로서 활용될 만큼 교육적 성취가 두드러지는데 이는 극 문학의 재현성과 깊이 관련된다. 극 문학에서 모방과 재현은 무대, 관객, 배우의 현존과 만남, 그 사이의 모든 감각적 체험이 작용한다. 문학교육이 학습자의 정서 체험을 하나의 목적으로 한다면 문학교육 연구는 그에 대한 질적 연구를 필요로 한다고 말할 수 있다. 현상학적 관점에서 문학 체험은 지향적 체험으로 구분된다. 이에 더해 극 문학에서는 관객의 감각적 체험이 의식작용의 한 축을 담당한다. 극 문학 교육에서는 감각적 체험과 지향적 체험의 동시적 작용을 고려해야 한다. 극 문학 교육 연구는 극 문학 체험과 극 문학 교육체험에서 관객, 학습자로서 주체의 체험에 대한 연구가 필요하다.

The amount of research on theater education is not large. The nature of dramatic literature has played a large role on that. Theater is literary and enjoyed as a performance. These characteristics can be conceptualized as linguistic, aesthetic, reproducibility, and indirectness as the essence of dramatic literature. Among them, the fact that the dramatic literature has reproducibility as a performance is a key element to establish the dramatic literature as a genre. Theater education is not only literary education but also educational achievement as it is used as educational method, which is deeply related to the reproducibility of dramatic literature. Imitation and reproduction in dramatic literature are influenced by the presence and encounter of stage, audience, actor, and all the sensory experiences in between. The purpose of this study is to provide a learner's emotional experience in literary education. From the phenomenological point of view, literary experience can be classified as directed experience. In addition, sensory experience of the audience plays an important role in consciousness in the dramatic literature. In theater education, simultaneous action of sensory experience and oriented experience should be considered. In the study of theater education, it is necessary to study the experience of the subject as an audience and a learner in experience of theater and theater education.
