이 글은 외국인 유학생을 위한 윤리적 글쓰기 지침서 개발 방안을 모색하는 데에 그 목적이 있다. 최근 국내 대학의 외국인 유학생의 급증으로 학문 목적 한국어 교육 연구가 폭넓게 이루어지고 있으며 그 가운데 학문 목적의 글쓰기 관련 논의가 눈에 띄게 많았다. 그런데 우리는 외국인 유학생이 글쓰기 과정에서 느끼는 여러 가지 애로점이나 다양한 상황들이, 종종 바람직하지 않은 방법으로 결과물을 만들어내는 원인이 되고 있음을 간과해 왔다. 외국인 유학생의 ‘학문 목적의 글쓰기 능력 신장’은 ‘윤리적 글쓰기’를 전제로 하지 않는다면 그 ‘진정성’은 결코 보장될 수 없다. 이에 외국인 유학생의 불충분한 한국어 능력뿐만 아니라 외국인 유학생의 상황이 고려된 윤리적 글쓰기 지침서의 개발이 시급하다. 이 논의에서는 외국인 유학생 대상의 윤리적 글쓰기 지침서의 ‘개발 목표’, ‘개발 원리’, ‘구성 내용’ 등을 중심으로 살펴보았다. 이 글의 결과는 향후 윤리적 글쓰기 지침서 개발하는 데에 기초 자료로 활용 가치가 높을 것으로 기대한다. 아울러 학문 목적의 한국어 교육에서 ‘성실하고 정직한 글쓰기’에 대한 가치를 부각시키고 ‘윤리적 글쓰기’ 실천을 위해 유용하게 쓰일 것이다. 지침서에 포함될 내용 및 실질적인 사례 등은 지속적으로 수집되고 보완되어야 할 것이며, 더욱 심도 있는 논의는 향후 과제로 남기기로 한다.

The objective of this study was to inquire into the development of ethical writing guidebook for foreign international students. Lately, in universities within our nation are experiencing a broad scope of study on the education of KAP(Korean for academic purposes) due to the exponential growth in the inflow of foreign students from around the globe. Among everything, the number of articles on writing of KAP(Korean for academic purposes) has increased a manifold. However, we have overlooked the fact that many of the situational differences and difficulties international students come to confront at times are habitually dealt with in an unorthodox way. If the growth of an international student’s writing abilities is not based on a solid premise of ethical writing, its morality cannot be guaranteed. The establishment of a guidebook considering not only an international student’s insufficient Korean skills but also their particular environment is imperative. This article closely examined the ‘the objective’, ‘the prerequisites', ‘structural content’ and other elements behind the development of ethical writing guidebook targeted for foreign international students. The acquired results of this study will serve as the cornerstone to the development of ethical writing guidebook in the future. Thus, it will be useful in emphasizing the importance of 'honest and sincere writing' and practicing ‘ethical writing’ in the writing education of KAP. The contents and examples to be included in the guidebook should be continuously collected and supplemented and deeper discussion into this study will be left for the future.
