These days, Korean language education often insists that the functional education of language is the core of Korean language education. This results from the consciousness of identity to depart from Korean studies. But they never philosophically doubt if they can teach such function of language directly. To believe that the function of language exist is the product of modern viewpoint on language.
Today's Korean language education draws a line between the contents of Korean language education and not Korean language education, and establish the contents system, but these thought take a base on the Bloom's taxanomy of education object and Gagne's domain of studies. The process of language activity―knowledge, function, attitude―is mixed in the real discourse. The declarative knowledge is only the leading point in the brain.
Gilbert Ryle analyzed the difference of the knowing how to do and the knowing a fact philosophically, and he said that knowing how to do is 'intelligence'. This is the voluntary thought on activity nessary to success of action. Intelligence merge activity and self-consciousness, it doesn't exclude the knowledge on fact but merge it. Our Korean language education must enlighten the line between the teachable and the unteachable, and have the philosophical understanding.
