해양 레저 산업은 디자인과 연계된 디자인 기반의 산업 중 하나이며, 그 산업적 영역은 다양한 분야에 걸쳐 있기 때문에 매우 광범위하다. 연계된 다양한 분야마다 디자인의 영향이 미치지 않는 곳이 없다. 국내에서도 해양 레저 수요 증가에 따라서 해양 마리나 환경 조성, 크루즈 관광 기반 환경 조성, 해양 레포츠 제품 개발 등 해양 산업에 따른 디자인 수요가 증대하고 있음에도 불구하고, 국내에는 해양 산업을 연계한 디자인 전문 인력 양성이나 해양 디자인에 전문화된 디자인 기업은 매우 부족한 실정이다. 부산시 역시 국내 해양 레저 산업을 발전시킬 수 있는 자연 여건과 산업 여건, 그리고 잠재력을 보유하고 있으며, 동남권 해양 연계 개발이나 해양 레저 산업 단지 조성 등 산업을 주도할 수 있는 가능성을 가지고 있다. 하지만 실재 해양 레저 산업은 물론 이를 지원하는 해양 디자인 산업의 역량은 매우 낮은 수준이다. 본 연구의 목적은 이러한 문제에서 출발하여, 해양 레저 산업의 경쟁력 향상과 체계적인 육성을 위한 기반 조성으로서 디자인의 역할과 해양 레저 산업에 연계한 부산시에 소재한 디자인 기업의 전문화 전략과 그 방향을 제시하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 해양디자인을 위한 디자인 기업 육성 지원 전략으로서 해양 디자인 기초 역량 강화, 교육기관과 연계한 전문 인력 양성, 해양 디자인 R & D 역량 강화를 제안하였다. 그리고 디자인기업을 지원하기 위한 전략으로 지방 정부의 지원체계 정비, 해양 레저 산업의 확산 및 홍보, 해양 디자인 산업의 선순환 체계 구축이 제안하였다.

The marine leisure industry is a design-based field, yet it is also very broad because it is related to a variety of industrial fields. There is no place that is not affected by the influence of design. Even though there is an increasing demand for design in accordance with the growth of the marine leisure industry, in for example the creation of marine environments, the building of cruise tourism infrastructure, and the development of marine sporting goods, there are not enough design companies training human resources for professional marine design. The city of Busan has an appropriate, natural and industrial environment to be considered as a potential site to foster the marine leisure industry. It also has the possibility to lead marine-related development and to construct a marine leisure industry complex. However, the capability of the city of Busan in relation with the marine leisure industry and marine design, which supports the marine leisure industry, does not meet the general standard. The purpose of this study is to give direction to the role of design in improving the competitiveness of the marine leisure industry and in founding a base to systematically nurture the industry. It also gives direction to specialization strategies for design companies in Busan related to the marine leisure industry. This study proposes, as a strategy for fostering design companies doing marine design, the solidification of basic competence in marine design, the training of human resources coordinated with academic institutions, and the reinforcement of R & D competence in marine design. It also proposes, as a strategy for supporting design companies, reorganizing the supporting systems of local governments, the expansion and image management of the marine industry, and the establishment of a virtuous cycle for the marine design industry.
