<그녀에게>는 스페인 감독 페드로 알모도바르(Pedro Almodovar)가 2002년에 제작한 영화로 원 제목은 스페인어로 Hable Con Ella, 영어로는 Talk To Her이다. 이 영화에서는 주인공이 4명 등장하는데 남자 주인공은 베니뇨와 마르코이고 여자 주인공은 알리샤와 리디아이다. <그녀에게>는 베니뇨의 시각에서 진행되는 이야기이기 때문에 그의 심리분석은 이 영화를 이해하는데 필수적이다. <그녀에게>에서 가장 이해하기 어려운 사건은 베니뇨가 알리샤를 강간하는 것이다. 베니뇨는 왜 알리샤를 강간하는가? 사랑하기 때문에 강간하였다는 설명은 너무 단순하다. 게다가 관객들은 베니뇨의 강간에 분노를 느끼지 않는다. 베니뇨의 강간이 <그녀에게>를 이해하는 주요 실마리임에도 불구하고 이 주제를 심도 있게 다룬 논문은 국내외적으로 거의 없다. 본 연구의 목적은 베니뇨가 알리샤를 강간한 이유를 프로이트와 라캉의 정신분석 이론에 따라 분석하는 것이다. 베니뇨는 어머니와의 병적 애착관계로 인하여 정상적인 발달 단계를 거치지 못하였으며 그 결과 오이디푸스기에 고착되어 있다. 베니뇨가 알리샤를 강간한 것은 성적 쾌락을 얻기 위한 것이 아니라 그녀와 하나가 되기 위한 것이다. 그러나 실제로 베니뇨가 하나가 되고 싶은 사람은 알리샤가 아니라 그의 어머니다. 알리샤는 어머니의 대체에 불과하다. 베니뇨는 알리샤를 최초의 욕망의 대상인 어머니와 혼동하고 있다. 베니뇨의 강간은 어머니와 합체가 되려는 욕망 때문이다. 베니뇨는 어머니의 품속으로, 자궁 속으로 들어가 영원히 하나가 되고 싶은 근친상간적 욕망을 실현하기 위하여 알리샤를 강간한 것이다. 베니뇨는 <그녀에게>에서 여자에서의 결핍의 원인이자 욕망의 대상인 남근의 역할을 하고 있다. 베니뇨는 표면적으로는 어머니와 알리샤를 돌보는 일에 모든 삶을 바치는 남자이지만 정신분석적으로는 여자의 성애물품인 남근으로 환원되는 남자다. 어머니의 욕망의 대상이 되어 어머니에게 결핍된 남근을 어머니에게 제공하다가 어머니가 죽은 후에는 어머니의 대체물인 알리샤의 남근이 되는 남자다. 베니뇨는 어머니의 남근이 되어 어머니와 합체되는 퇴행적 환상에 사로잡혀 기꺼이 죽음을 선택하는 남자다. 그리고 자신은 죽음으로써 알리샤에게는 삶의 욕망인 오르가즘을 제공하는 남자이다.

< Talk to her > is a Spanish film directed by Pedro Almodovar in 2002. The original title in Spanish is Hable Con Ella and it is translated as Talk to her in English. There are four main characters in this film: two men are Benigno and Marco, and two women are Alicia and Lydia. As the story is carried out from Benigno’s point of view, psychological analysis of Benigno would be essential in understanding this film. Why does Benigno rape Alicia? This is the most difficult yet critical question need to be asked to understand this film. Saying it is because he loves her would be too simple and superficial. Moreover, the audiences do not feel disturbed by the rape. There are not many studies that focus on the answer to this question even though it is the key to understanding this film. The purpose of this study is to suggest an explanation to why Benigno rapes Alicia, using Freudian and Lacanian psychoanalyses. During his childhood, Benigno had a pathological attachment to his mother and fails to complete the normal developmental process. He is fixed at Oedipus stage. Benigno rapes Alicia not for sexual pleasure, but for them to become one body. However, whom Benigno truly desires is his mother, not Alicia. Alicia only serves as his mother’s substitute, Benigno confuses Alicia with his mother, the very first object of sexual desire. The rape represents his desire to be with his mother. He rapes Alicia to go back to his mother’s womb and become one flesh, fulfilling his incestuous desire. In Talk to Her, Benigno symbolizes the phallus, the object of desire and the cause of deprivation in women. On the surface Benigno is a dedicated man to his mother and Alicia, but psychoanalytically he represents the phallus which is a fetish of women. He is a man who becomes the subject of his mother's desire and serves her with the phallus that she lacks in, and after her death, he becomes the phallus of Alicia who is mother's substitute. Benigno is a man who is willing to die for his regressive fantasy of being his mother's phallus and coalescing with her. He is a man who provides the orgasm that is the desire of life to Alicia by dying.
