본 연구에서는 2015 특수교육 기본 교육과정 초등학교 1～2학년군 국어 교과서에 수록된 그림책 작품의 특징을 개관하고, 작품 속 어휘와 문장의 적절성을 분석하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 수록된 작품은 총 80편이었으며, 서사ㆍ정보 그림책이 55편, 동시 7편, 동요 18편이었다. 서사ㆍ정보 그림책 유형은 환상(판타지) 그림책이 27편, 정보 그림책이 20편, 사실 그림책이 8편이었다. 둘째, 수록된 그림책 작품이 교과서에서 어떠한 역할을 하는지 분석한 결과 서사ㆍ정보 그림책에서는 자료 제시의 역할을 하는 것이 많았으며, 동시ㆍ동요에서는 주로 활동 안내의 역할을 하는 것이 많았다. 셋째, 수록된 그림책의 흥미 유발 요소로는 서사ㆍ정보 그림책에서는 시각적 아름다움 및 시각화와 언어적 유희의 요소가 가장 많이 나타났으며, 동시ㆍ동요에서는 언어적 유희 및 소리 표현의 요소가 가장 많이 나타났다. 넷째, 수록된 작품에 제시된 어휘의 난이도 분석 결과, 총 어휘 수는 507개였고, 이중 초급에 해당하지 않은 어휘는 226개였다. 초급을 벗어난 어휘는 명사와 부사가 많았는데, 대체로 동물, 식물, 학습 도구나 학습 내용과 관련된 어휘와 의태어, 의성어가 많았다. 다섯째, 그림책의 문장이 적절한지 알아보기 위해 문장의 구조와 문장 내 어절 수를 분석하였다. 국어 교과서에 수록된 작품 속, 총 문장 수는 297개였으며, 이중 단문이 77.4%였다. 8어절을 초과하는 문장은 총 9개였다. 이와 같은 연구 결과를 바탕으로 기본 교육과정 국어교과서 수록 문학 작품의 선정 기준과 후속 연구를 위한 논의와 제언을 하였다.

In this study, we gave an overview of the characteristics of picture book works in elementary school 1st and 2nd grade Korean language textbooks of 2015 Special Education Basic Curriculum and analyzed the appropriateness of vocabularies and sentences in the works. The results are as follows. First, the works are 80 pieces in total. They consist of 55 picture works about narration and information, 7 children’s poems, and 18 children’s songs. The types of narrative and information picture works were fantasy(27 pieces), information(20 pieces), and realism(8 pieces). Second, the works about narration and information played a role of presenting the data. The poems and songs were used to introduce activities. Third, visual beauty, visualization and linguistic play elements were the most frequently found in the narrative and information picture works as the interesting factors. Fourth, the total number of vocabularies was 507. 226 of them were not in the elementary level. Many nouns and adverbs were out of the elementary level. They were words about animals, plants, learning tools and learning contents. Fifth, in the Korean language textbooks, the total number of sentences was 295, and dual simple sentences were 77%. There were 9 sentences that exceeded 8 words. We discussed and suggested for the selection criteria and follow - up study based on the results of this study.
