여성결혼이민자 대상 한국어 교재는 여성결혼이민자가 수행해야 할 역할의 다양성을 바탕으로 주제를 선정하고 관련 어휘 및 표현을 자연스럽게 익힐 수 있도록 구성되어야 한다. 이에 본 연구는 여성결혼이민자 대상 한국어 교재분석과 여성결혼이민자 315명의 심층면담을 실시하였다. 분석 결과 여성결혼이민자의 한국어 학습의 목적이 일상생활과 사회생활로 나뉘어야 함을 확인하였다. 특히 한국어 학습 중도 포기 원인 조사를 통해 그들이 기초생활 정착뿐 아니라 사회적 욕구를 가지고 구체적으로 구현하고자 노력하는 존재임을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구는 학습자를 대상으로 한 현황 파악과 요구를 전제로 하여 여성결혼이민자의 한국 정착 과정에서의 생애주기가 반영된 교재를 구성하는 방법에 대해 제시하고자 한다.

The contents and topics within the Korean textbooks for female marriage based immigrants should be selected regarding the diverse roles these immigrants are to carry out and their area of activity, so that they can naturally get used to the relevant vocabulary. Also, various activities should be included to help them attain multilateral images as members of the society. Thus, the Korean textbooks for female marriage based immigrants should be restructured by thoroughly grasping their needs and reality, so that it can reflect their life cycle in the settlement process. This study faces up squarely to the changes in the aspects of Korean education for female marriage based immigrants and puts them in the category of ‘settlement-purpose learners’. Moreover, the necessity of appropriate language and culture textbooks and their format are presented in this study.
