본고는 중국인 초급 학습자에게 적절한 한국어 형용사 교육 방안을 제시함을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 먼저 중국인 초급부터 고급 단계 학습자 총 167명의 쓰기 자료 293편에 나타나는 형용사 관련 오류 양상 중에 품사 및 문장성분에 대한 인지 부족에서 발생하는 오류를 1) 서술어 오류, 2) 조사 또는 문형 오류, 3) 활용 및 파생 오류로 나누어 그 양상과 원인을 구체적으로 분석하였다. 그리고 국립국어원 및 국내 5개 대학기관의 초급 교재에 제시된 형용사어휘 목록과 관련 문법 항목을 자세히 분석하였다. 그 결과 초급뿐 아니라 고급 단계의 학습자들에게서도 품사 및 문장성분에 대한 인지 부족에서 발생하는 오류가 빈번함에도 불구하고, 조사된 초급 교재에서는 품사 및 문장성분에 대한 교육이 미흡하며, 문법 교육과 어휘 교육이 유기적으로 연계되어 있지 않음을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 형용사 어휘와 관련 문법 항목의 목록 및 제시방법에 있어서도 교재별로 차이가 많음을 확인할 수 있었다. 이에 본고는 중국인 초급 학습자에게 적절한 134개의 형용사 목록과 61개의 관련 문법 항목을 제시하고 보다 효율적인 형용사 교육 방안에 대해 제언하였다.

This study aims to propose teaching methods of Korean adjectives for Chinese-speaking learners with beginner level. In order to accomplish the aim, this study examined 293 compositions written by 167 Chinese-speaking learners from beginner to advanced level and analyzed the errors related to the use of adjectives which were caused by lack of understanding about parts of speech or sentence components. Also this study examined 21 textbooks for beginners which were published in National Institute of Korean Language and 5 universities. As a result, I found that Chinese-speaking learners made lots of errors caused by lack of understanding about parts of speech or sentence components, regardless of their proficiency levels and the textbooks showed many differences in a list of adjectives and grammatical items related to adjectives. Therefore, I proposed a more suitable list of adjectives and grammatical items, and efficient teaching methods of Korean adjectives for Chinese primary learners.
