이 연구에서는 연결어미 ‘-다가’의 형태 의미와 의미 기능을 밝혔다. 연결어미는 하나의 형태소이므로 형태소로서 형태 의미를 가지며, 종속절과 주절의 의미 관계에 따라 의미 기능을 가지게 된다. 연결어미 ‘-다가’의 형태 의미를 밝히기 위해서는 분석 범위를 ‘-다가’절로 한정해야 하며, 연결어미 ‘-다가’의 의미기능을 밝히기 위해서는 분석 범위를 ‘-다가’절과 주절의 관계로 한정해야 한다. 이러한 연구 방법을 통해, 연결어미 ‘-다가’의 형태 의미는 ‘종속절 사건의 전개 상태가 해당 상태의 도달점을 향해 다가가고 있음’이며, 연결어미 ‘-다가’의 의미 기능은 주절에 대해서 ‘-다가’절이 [전환]이나 [원인]임을 밝혔다. 연결어미 ‘-다가’의 의미로 언급되던 [조건]은 보조사 ‘-는’의 의미 간섭으로 인한 것으로, 연결어미 ‘-다가’의 의미가 아님을 밝혔다.

This study aims to identify a morphemic meaning and a semantic function of the conjunctive ending ‘-daga.’ A conjunctive ending is one morpheme and, as a morpheme, it has a morphemic meaning. In addition, a conjunctive ending obtains a semantic function depending on the relationship between a subordinate clause and a main clause. To identify the morphemic meaning of the conjunctive ending ‘-daga,’ the scope of the analysis should be limited to the relationship between the ‘-daga’ clause(the subordinate clause) and the main clause. Through this research method, this study found that the morphemic meaning of the conjunctive ending ‘-daga’ is “the development state of the event in the subordinate clause moving toward a point of the corresponding state.” This study also found that the semantic function of the conjunctive ending ‘-daga’ is [shift] or [cause] regarding the main clause.
