이 연구에서는 교원양성 교육과정과 중등 국어과 임용시험의 현황을 검토하고 개선 방안을 제시하였다. 교원양성 교육과정은 기본이수과목과 교과교육영역 과목을 중심으로 표준화되는 경향을 보였으며, 대학별로 특색이 있는 국어교육 과목을 개발하는 경향도 보였다. 하지만 교육과정, 평가, 교수·학습 관련 과목의 대학별 편차가 심한 현상도 나타났다. 이를 개선하기 위해서는 ‘기본이수과목의 재구조화와 전공과목의 확장’, ‘국어교육학 과목으로의 확대’, ‘교육과정, 평가, 교수·학습 관련 과목의 전공 과목화’, ‘국어 소양 과목 개설’ 등이 필요하다. 중등 국어과 임용시험을 개선하기 위해서는 교직 과목 평가의 개선, 단순 지식 위주의 평가로부터의 탈피, 복합적인 국어교육 수행 능력 평가 지향, 다양한 교수·학습 방법을 활용한 수업실연평가 실시 등을 들 수 있다. 이상의 개선을 위해서는 국어교육학계의 지속적인 노력이 필요하다.

The Korean language education curriculum at teacher collegesis be-ing standardized. There is also a tendency to develop Korean language education curricula that are characteristic of universities. However, sig-nificant differences in curriculum, evaluation, and teaching and learning related subjects among universities exist. In order to improve this, it is necessary to restructure basic subjects, expand major courses, develop curricular subjects, curricula and evaluations, and major courses in subjects related to teaching and learning, and establish Korean language lit-eracy subjects. In order to improve the Korean language proficiency test, assessing the teaching profession needs to be improved, deviating from evaluation of simple knowledge to performance of Korean language education, and assessing teaching ability employing various teaching and learning meth-ods.
