이 논문은 기호학적 관점에서 독자의 읽기 과정을 살펴보았다. 독자가 텍스트의 내용을 표상하고, 표상한 내용에서 의미를 해석하는 과정에 인터텍스트를 활용한다고 보았다. 이는 텍스트가 인터텍스트의 공유로 상호텍스트성을 이루고 있기 때문에, 독자가 텍스트를 읽을 때 이 인터텍스트를 활용할 수 있음에 착안한 것이다. 독자는 텍스트를 읽을 때 인식 활동은 기표를 경계로 안으로 들어가 내용을 표상하고, 밖으로 나와 표상한 내용에 대한 의미를 해석한다. 독자는 텍스트 기표의 경계를 넘나들면서 인터텍스트를 활용하는 것이다. 인터텍스트를 활용한 독자의 표상과 해석 활동은 텍스트의 구조와 관련되어 있다. 텍스트는 기표와 기의의 구조를 가진다. 독자가 기표를 해독하여 기의를 인식하기 위해서는 이들을 연결 짓는 기제가 필요하다. 기표와 기의를 연결 지어 텍스트의 내용 표상하고, 표상한 내용의 의미 해석을 돕는 것이 인터텍스트이다. 독자는 텍스트의 기표 경계를 넘어 들어갈 때의 활용하는 인터텍스트와 밖으로 나올 때 활용하는 인터텍스트는 다른 것을 활용한다. 이것은 표상과 해석이 다른 의식의 내용을 지향하기 때문이다. 읽기 교육은 읽기 현상을 어떻게 보는가에 따라 달라진다. 인터텍스트를 활용한 읽기는 독자의 표상과 해석을 설명하는 하나의 관점이다. 이 관점에서는 인터텍스트를 독자가 텍스트를 이해하는 데 필요한 중요 단서로 본다. 이 논의에서는 인터텍스트를 활용한 읽기의 구체적이고 충분한 실증적 논의를 하지 못했다. 인터텍스트의 역할에 대한 이론적 검토와 인터텍스트를 활용한 독자의 읽기 활동에 대한 실증적 근가가 필요하다. 이들 연구에 대한 결과를 바탕으로 교육적 접근 방법을 모색할 필요가 있다.

The purpose of this paper is to study the method of reading the inside, the outside and across the text. In this discussion, we see that reading is done across the boundary of the text. Text is encompassed by other texts on the outer surface symbols, but it is linked in content. The reader must go beyond the boundaries of the text to read. So the reader has to understand the content of the text. The reader crosses the boundaries of text and performs the representation and interpretation activities. Reading into the boundaries of the text by the reader is oriented toward representation, and reading out of the text is oriented toward interpretation. Cross reading uses intertext which is used to represent and interpret the contents. To this end, readers should use different intertexts when they begin and finish reading text. they should find and use appropriate intertexts to cross the text, which will allow them to gain a deeper understanding of the text. Reading education depends on how you view the reading phenomenon. In this study, we considered how to read texts while thinking about the direction of reading education. The concept of reading across text boundaries is not well established. Further research is needed to establish the concept and method of reading. In addition, an analysis of the actual reading activities of the readers and identification of their specific reading strategies is also required. Based on this, the reading educator should prepare the reading method and the reading instruction method.
