본 연구의 목적은 중국계 중도입국청소년들의 체류와 관련된 경험을 탐색하고 이들의 체류와 관련된 정책 개선방안을 제안하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 2017년 3월부터 6월까지 중국계 중도입국청소년 5명을 대상으로 심층인터뷰를 진행하고 이를 체류동기와 체류의 어려움, 체류와 관련한 지원요구로 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 중도입국청소년들의 한국 체류 동기는 엄마와 함께 살고픈 마음과 새 아빠에 대한 기대, 중국에서 혼자 생활하는 것이 싫어서, 또 자신의 새로운 꿈을 위해서, 그리고 돈을 벌기 위해 한국에 체류하고 싶어 했다. 둘째, 한국 체류의 어려움은 국적취득에 대한 어려움과 비자로 인한 경제활동의 제한, 한국인들의 차별적인 대우, 한국생활에 대한 정보의 부재로 드러났다. 셋째, 한국체류에 대한 지원요구는 초기 입국자에 대한 고려, 연동이 안 되는 중도입국 청소년 관련 프로그램, 진로와 관련한 다양한 정보제공, 일할 수 있는 기회제공으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 중도입국청소년 체류와 관련한 정책의 개선방안을 제시하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 중도입국청소년들의 한국사회에 잘 적응할 수 있는 토대가 마련되길 기대해본다.

This qualitative research explores the experiences related to the immigrated children of multicultural families from China and propose ways to improve their retention policies. For this purpose, an in-depth interview has been conducted with mid-entry immigrant youths from March to June, 2017. Queries were focused on the analysis of the motivation for the stay in Korea, and residence difficulties of the mid-entry immigrant youths, as well as the support requirements related to residence, etc. The findings from the study suggest that after immigrating to Korea, firstly, the desire to stay in Korea of motivation is to live with their moms, for expectation of the father in law, being fed up with living alone in China. And then, because of their dreams that they want to stay in Korea and to accomplish their dreams. After, they can earn money to feed theirselves. Secondly, The difficulty of staying in Korea is that it is difficult to acquire the Korean nationality. In the economic activity has been greatly constrained because of the identity of the restrictions. And, being discriminated against by Koreans, and lack of access to information on life in Korea. Thirdly, the demand for support stranded in South Korea is based on considerations for early arrivals, unable to bind mid-entry immigrant youths related programs, various information related to the future, as well as provide some support on job opportunity for mid-entry immigrant youths. Based on these results, an improvement plan for the policy on stay-in of adolescent children entering the country is proposed. Through this study, we look forward to being able to adapt Korean children in Korean society to Korean society in Korean society.
