본 연구는 키워드 네트워크 분석을 통해 상담학의 지적 구조를 파악하고, 향후 연구 과제의 방향에 시사점을 제공하는 데 목적이 있다. 이와 같은 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 「상담학 연구」2000년부터 2016년까지 1권 1호부터 17권 6호에 게재된 총 1,734편 논문의 키워드 7,535개를 분석하였다. 수집된 자료는 키워드 정제과정을 거쳐 Excel 2010과 NetMiner4.0으로 분석하였고, 정체성 확립기, 도약기, 발전기, 대외활동기, 사회과제대응기로 시기를 구분하여 네트워크 분석을 실시하였고, 양적연구, 질적연구, 혼합연구로 구분하여 시기별로 심층적인 네트워크 분석을 하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 시기별로 연결중심성 및 응집성 분석을 통해 「상담학 연구」의 지적 구조를 파악할 수 있었다. 각 시기별로 사회적인 흐름을 반영하는 동시에 초기 학교상담, 이론에 국한된 연구들이 점차 개인의 심리적 기제, 진로, 긍정적인 내적 요인 등으로 연구 범위가 넓어지고 다양화되고 있음을 알 수 있다. 둘째, 연구방법에 따른 시기별 분석을 살펴보면 양적연구의 경우 성격특성, 진로에 관한 연구 등으로 치중되어 있었고, 질적연구는 상담자에 대한 다양한 연구방법들이 꾸준히 시도되고 있다. 또한, 혼합연구는 초기에는 연구가 활성화되지 않았으나 발전기 이후부터 조금씩 증가하고는 있지만 좀 더 확장되어야 할 필요가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구의 분석 결과와 논의를 바탕으로 상담학의 지적 구조를 통한 이해 및 발전에 도움이 될 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to understand the intellectual structure of counseling through the keyword network analysis and to provide implications for the direction of future research tasks. For this purpose, 7,535 key words of 1,734 papers from Korean Journal of Counseling published in 2000~2016(Vol.1 no.1 ~ Vol.17 no.6) were analyzed. The collected data were analyzed by Excel 2010 and Net Miner4.0 through keyword refinement process. Network analysis was conducted by dividing the periods such as, the identity establishing period, the breaker period, the generator period, the external activity period, and the social task response period. In-depth network analysis was conducted by dividing the research methods such as, quantitative research, qualitative research, and mixed research. The results of the study are as follows. First, intellectual structure of Korean Journal of Counseling was identified through degree centrality and community analysis by period. The studies that limited to the early school counseling and theories and reflected the social trend at the same time at each period gradually become wider and diversified to individual psychological mechanisms, career paths, and positive internal factors. Second, in terms of the research method by time, the quantitative researches were focused on the personality traits and the career researches. The qualitative researches have been tried variously for the counselors. Although it was not activated in the beginning , mixed researches are increasing gradually after the generator period, but the method needs to be expanded further. The results and discussions would help understanding and development through the intellectual structure of counseling.
