본 연구의 목적은 상담전공 학부생의 성격특성과 학업소진 및 진로스트레스 간의 관계에서 자기효능감의 매개효과를 확인하는 데에 있다. 본 연구는 상담전공 학부생 327명을 대상으로 하여 성격 5요인 척도, 자기효능감 척도, 학업소진 척도, 진로스트레스 척도로 구성된 설문지를 실시하여 진행되었다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 성격특성과 학업소진과의 관계에서 자기효능감의 매개효과를 검증한 결과, 개방성, 친화성과 학업소진 간의 관계에서는 자기효능감이 완전매개하였고, 신경성과 학업소진 간의 관계에서는 자기효능감이 부분매개하였다. 둘째, 성격특성과 진로스트레스의 관계에서 자기효능감이 매개하는가를 검증한 결과, 신경성, 개방성, 친화성 모두 완전매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 상담전공 학부생의 성격특성에 따른 학업소진 및 진로스트레스를 이해하기 위해 이들의 관계에서 자기효능감의 매개효과를 검증하여 상담전공 학부생의 교육서비스 및 지원 프로그램의 기초자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 제한점과 후속연구에 대해서 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of self-efficacy on the relations among personality traits, academic burnout, and career stress of undergraduate students who are majoring in counseling. For this purpose, 327 undergraduate students majoring in counseling were surveyed about academic burnout, career stress, self-efficacy, and their personality traits scales. The results are as follows. First, as a result of verifying mediating effects of self-efficacy on the relations between personality traits and academic burnout, self-efficacy completely mediated in the relationship between openness to experience, agreeableness and academic burnout. In the meantime, self-efficacy partially mediated the relations between neuroticism and academic burnout. Second, the result of verifying mediating effects of self-efficacy on the relationship between personality traits and career stress, self-efficacy completely mediated the relationship between neuroticism, openness to experience, agreeableness and career stress. To comprehend academic burnout and career stress depending on students ’ personality traits, this study tried to verify the mediating effects of self-efficacy in these relations by suggesting basic data of educational services and support programs for undergraduate students who are majoring in counseling. Finally, limitations and suggestions of this study were discussed.
