본 연구는 Boyd-Wilson과 Walkey(2015 a)가 개발한 깨달음 척도(Enlightenment Scale)를 한국판으로 번안하여 타당화하였다. 성인남녀 803명을 대상으로 수집한 자료를 바탕으로 탐색적 요인 분석과 확인적 요인 분석을 실시한 결과, 내적 평화와 개방적 태도의 2요인 구조로 구성됨이 확인되었다. 신뢰도분석 결과, 높은 내적 합치도를 나타냈다. 관련 변인과의 상관분석을 통해 깨달음 척도가 수렴, 공존타당도를 갖추고 있는지 확인한 결과, 깨달음은 마음챙김, 자기자비, 심리적 안녕과 높은 정적 상관을 보였고, 경계선 성격 장애와는 높은 부적 상관을 보였으며, 자기애성 성격 장애와도 유의한 부적상관을 보였다. 마지막으로 위계적 회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 깨달음은 심리적 안녕감과 정신 건강에 대해 자기자비와 마음챙김을 통제하고도 유의한 증분 설명량을 나타냈다. 이러한 결과를 통해 한국판 깨달음 척도가 신뢰롭고 타당한 도구임을 입증하였으며, 본 연구의 의의, 한계점, 추후연구에 관해 제언하였다.

The purpose of this study was to translate and validate the Enlightenment Scale developed by Boyd-Wilson and Walkey(2015 a) into Korean. Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis based on the data from 803 adults. Results showed that it consisted of two-factors; ‘Internal Peace’ and ‘Open-Hearted’. Reliability analysis showed high internal consistency. Convergence and Concurrent validity with K-SCS, MAAS and K-PWBS showed significantly positive correlation. Also, discriminant validity with NPDS and K-BPDS showed significantly negative correlation. In addition, a hierarchical multiple regression analysis resulted in the incremental validity of enlightenment over mindfulness and self-compassion, which suggests that the construct of enlightenment is well discriminated from them. Overall, these findings indicated that the Korean Enlightenment Scale is a reliable and valid tool for measuring the concept of Enlightenment. Finally, the implications, limitations, and directions for future research were discussed.
