본 연구의 목적은 상실에 따른 애도 반응, 인지적 재평가, 영적 대처, 그리고 외상 후 성장 간의 구조적 관계를 탐색하고, 애도 반응과 외상 후 성장의 관계에서 인지적 재평가와 영적 대처의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 연구를 위해 사별 경험이 있는 성인 230명이 온라인 패널 사이트를 통해 설문에 참여하였다. 연구 결과, 애도 반응과 외상 후 성장의 관계에서 인지적 재평가와 영적 대처가 각각 유의한 부분매개효과를 보였다. 이러한 결과는 애도 반응이 외상 후 성장에 직접적인 영향을 미칠 뿐만 아니라, 현실적인 인지적 재평가 또는 실존적 및 영적 신념에 기초한 개인 고유의 방식을 통해 외상 후 성장에 이를 수 있다는 것을 시사한다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 연구의 시사점, 한계점 등을 논의하고 추후 연구를 위한 제언을 제시하였다.

This study was to investigate the structural relationship among grief reaction, cognitive reappraisal, spiritual coping, and post-traumatic growth, and to verify the mediating effects of cognitive reappraisal and spiritual coping on the relationship between grief reaction and post-traumatic growth. For this study, 230 adult participants with bereavement experience completed the questionnaires through an online panel site. As a result, cognitive reappraisal and spiritual coping partially mediated the relationship between grief reaction and post-traumatic growth respectively. The results suggest that not only grief reaction can affect post-traumatic growth directly, but also it may lead to post-traumatic growth through a realistic cognitive reappraisal or a personal strategy method based on existential and spiritual belief. Finally, implication and limitations and suggestions for future research were discussed.
