이 연구는 국어 교과서가 상위인지 읽기 전략을 어떻게 반영하고 있는지 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 위해서 중학교 3학년 14종 검정 교과서 중 관련 성취기준을 반영한 대단원 혹은 소단원을 분석하였다. 분석 기준을 바탕으로 교과서를 개방 코딩 후, 분석 기준별로 14종의 교과서를 횡적 교차 분석하여 특징과 문제점을 범주화하였다. 그 결과 상위인지 읽기 전략 지도에서 중요한 읽기 목적을 설정하기 위해 메타 텍스트를 활용하는 것이 필요하였다. 교과서에 제시된 설명 텍스트가 읽기 과정에 따른 읽기 전략에 초점이 맞춰져 있어 상위인지 읽기 전략의 가장 중요한 읽기 점검과 조절에 대한 설명이 부족하였다. 상위인지 읽기 전략을 연습하기 위한 자료 텍스트 유형을 다양화하고 읽기 과정에 대한 점검과 조정을 학습할 수 있는 활동 텍스트가 필요하다. 상위인지 읽기 전략을 가르치기 위해 효과적인 상위인지 교수학습 방법에 대한 연구가 이루어져야 하고, 이를 바탕으로 교과서 내용과 학습활동을 체계적으로 구성하는 것이 필요하다.

This study seeks to examine how metacognitive reading strategies are reflected in Korean Language textbooks. To this end, this study has analyzed the major or minor units reflecting the achievement standards of the authorized textbooks for third-year middle school students. The textbooks were open-coded based on analysis criteria, and 14 types of textbooks were horizontally cross-tabulated, followed by categorization of their characteristics and issues. As a result, it has been concluded that it is necessary to utilize meta - text to set important reading purpose for teaching metacognitive reading strategies. The explanatory text presented in the textbooks focused on the reading strategy according to the reading process. There is a need for an activity text with which the reading process can be monitored and regulated and diversifying data text for practicing metacognitive reading strategies is needed as well. To teach metacognitive reading strategies, there must be research on effective metacognitive teaching-learning strategies, which should be followed by a comprehensive construction of textbook content and learning activities.
