연암 박지원의 「허생전」은 200여년이 지난 후에도 패러디로 재창작 되고 있으며 「허생의 처」와 「허생전을 배우는 시간」은 원작의 익숙한 텍스트를 기반으로 독자에게 익숙함을 느낄 수 있도록 반복하면서 패러디 작품이 독창적 창작이라는 차이를 보여주고 있다. 「허생의 처」는 허생의 처의 입장에서 허생이 조선 후기 경제, 사회, 정치 상황의 모순을 비판하지만 정작 자신은 그의 아내에게 가부장적 억압을 강요하는 모습을 보여준다. 허생의 처는 허생이 실리는 없이 명분만을 추구하는 허울뿐인 선비임을 깨닫고 허생에게 절연을 요구하며 능동적이고 주체적인 여성으로 다시 태어난다. 「허생전을 배우는 시간」은 교원노조에 가입한 국어선생님에 대한 학교당국의 억압과 탄압으로 「허생전」을 배우던 국어수업은 미완인 채로 막을 내리지만 끝없이 이어지는 ‘왜?’라는 질문과 정밀한 독서를 통해 학생들이 소설의 진실을 배우고 실천적 지식인으로 성장한다. 아울러 이들 패러디 작품의 창작 방법을 글쓰기 교육에 활용할 경우 비판정신과 창의성을 신장할 수 있을 것이다.

Heosaengjeon : The Story of Mr. Heo is still being recreated as parodies now, 200 years after it first came out. Heosaeng’s Wife and A Time to Learn Heosaengjoen show some differences of the parody works while displaying some familiar aspects of the original work. Heosaeng’s Wife shows the patriarchal attitude of Heosaeng from Heosaeng's wife's point of view. Heosaeng's wife realizes that Heosaeng is only a superficial person, and is reborn as an active and independent woman. In A Time to Learn Heosaengjoen, the teacher who teaches Heosaengjeon joins a teachers’ union and for this reason, is fired from school. However, students continue to study Heosaengjeon and discover the truth of life by reading it closely and continuing to ask why. And they grow into practical intellectuals. Also using the method of creating parody works for writing education will enhance learners’ creativity.
