중국은 시진핑 정권 등장이후 ‘중국의 꿈(中國夢)’을 통해 ‘중화민족의 위대한 부흥’을 제기하고, ‘강군몽’을 통해 강대국에 부합하는 군사력 건설을 추진하고 있다. 그렇다면 강대국으로서의 중국이 어떤 군사적 지향과 형상을 추구하고 있는가? 이 글은 베이징과 상하이의 중국학자들에 대한 설문조사와 심층인터뷰를 통해 강대국으로서의 중국이 추구하는 군사적 형상을 분석하였다. 결론적으로 중국은 강대국에 부합하는 군사력 건설을 분명하게 지향하고 있으며, 2030-2040년 사이에 동아시아 지역을 거점으로 하는 군사대국의 면모를 갖추게 될 것으로 전망된다.

China under Xi Jinping’s leadership has declared ‘great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation’ of ‘China Dream’, additionally Xi is pushing for a military power as a great power with ‘Dream of Building Strong Military’. If so, what configuration of military power do China want to pursue? This article analyzes the configuration of military power that China envisions through a survey and in-depth interview of Chinese scholars in Beijing and Shanghai. In conclusion, Chinese Scholars recognize that China is pursuing to build a military power that matches the great power, and that it will be a military superpower base in East Asia between 2030-2040.
