本稿は、黑澤明が原作の『マクベス』をどのように改作したのかを人物造形とプロットを中心に考察したものである。まず、原作の『マクベス』は自ら悲劇を招く能動的な行爲者だったのに對して、鷲津は自分の意志よりは外部の影響を受け、破局へ趣く臆病な敗北者である。一方、鷲津の妻·淺茅は、マクベス婦人の‘欲望’を受け繼ぐ上に、政治のあり方をよく把握している‘理性的’で‘冷酷な’人物に改作された。シェ一クスピアが詩的言語で主人公を悲劇的な人物として昇華させたのに對して、黑澤は人物造形を通じてその間隔を埋めている。また、兩作品の予言は主人公を迷わせて破滅に導くという点で、大同小異である。黑澤は原作の登場人物の性格と役割、そして多樣な內容のプロットを省略、あるいは單純化することによって、鷲津をを取り卷く空間を制約しつつ、長い時間帶に廣がっている事件間の時間差を壓縮させて、主人公の破局の過程を集中的に照明する。黑澤は‘惡’による無秩序を再建する原作の登場人物を初めから省略したり、單純化させた。このような点は無秩序が解消されて新しい秩序が具現される原作の結末を省略した理由と基底を共にする。映畵は人間の欲望によって續く‘血の惡循環’のみを强調しているのである。

This paper examines how Kurosawa adapted the original 『Macbeth』 focusing on the character creation and plot. Macbeth of the original was an active doer causing a tragedy for himself while Wasizu was a timid loser facing a collapse by the external influence, rather than his own will. Meanwhile, Wasizu's wife, Asazi was created as a 'rational' and 'heartless' character who knew very much about political physiology, on top of Macbeth's wife's 'desire'. Shakespeare sublimed the main character into a tragic character with poetic language while Kurosawa filled the gap with character creation. Also, compared to the vulgar witch of the original, the old woman in 《Throne of Blood》 showed a kind of divine unworldliness character. In the aspect that a prophecy confuses/leads the main character to ruin, those two works are not much different to each other. Kurosawa restricts the space surrounding Wasizu by omitting or simplifying the flot of diverse contents and the personality and role of characters in the original. Compressing the time between events throughout a long time, the process of the main character's collapse is rapidly and intensively developed based on the dramatic tension. Kurosawa omits or simplifies the character in the original that could reconstruct the disorder by 'evil'. This has the same reason why the end of the original resolving the disorder and realizing new orders has been omitted. The movie just aims to emphasize the continuous 'vicious circle of blood' caused by humans' desire.
