이 연구는 국내 초중급 수준의 한국어 수업에서 드러나는 학습자간 수준 차 문제에 주목하고, 이를 개선할 수 있는 교수학습방법으로 완전학습프로그램을 개발하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 완전학습과 관련한 국내외의 이론을 살펴 프로그램을 보완 할 수 있는 방법을 모색하는 한편, 실제 완전학습 프로그램과 교재를 구안하여 적용해 보았다. M대학과 S대학, K대학에서 이루어진 본 실험 결과, 진단 평가를 통해 드러난 학업 성취율이 유의미한 비율로 상승한 것을 파악할 수 있었다. 또한 실험 사례 중에서도 <완전학습자료집>을 활용하여 보충ㆍ심화 학습을 실시한 경우에 학습자들의 개인차가 더욱 완화되는 양상을 확인할 수 있었다. 모든 교육 이론은 정체된 상태에서의 일방적인 적용에 머무르는 것이 아니라, 실제 교육 현상의 개선에 기여할 수 있는 방식으로 진화해야 한다. 이 연구는 완전학습과 관련한 국내외 프로그램의 적용 현황을 살펴 학습자가 스스로 자신의 수업 결손 부분을 보충할 수 있는 보충학습의 성격을 띤 프로그램으로 보완했다는 점에서 의미가 있다. 또한 국내외에서 이루어지고 있는 관련 연구들을 두루 검토하여 보다 효과적인 프로그램 개발을 모색하고자 했다는 점에서, 한국어 교육과 관련한 국내외 연구 영역 간의 이론적 교류를 시도한 사례 연구로서도 기여할 수 있다.

This study focuses on the prevalent issue of proficiency level differences among learners in domestic beginner to intermediate Korean classes and aims to develop a mastery learning program through teaching and learning methodology. It seeks methods to supplement the program by examining domestic and foreign theories on mastery learning, and constitutes and applies an actual program and textbook. Results of experiments conducted in M University, S University, K University showed that academic performance from diagnostic evaluation. Further, dividing the class into groups to conduct group learning showed a reduction of the gap in individual differences among the learners. Educational theories should not merely be applied in a unilateral approach and stay static; they must evolve in a way that can contribute to improving the actual state of education. This study is significant in that it examines the current status of applying programs related to mastery learning, and enhances it by creating a supplementary program in which learners can address their own academic areas of weakness. Furthermore, by seeking to develop an effective program by examining domestic and foreign research related to the topic, this study contributes to the literature by facilitating the exchange of theories on Korean education between domestic and foreign research.
