텍스트에서 사진과 동영상을 거쳐 가상현실에 이르기까지 매체는 복합 양식으로 발전하고 있지만, 교과서에서 제시하는 전략은 시각 자료의 이해와 활용에 국한된 상식적인 수준에서 벗어나지 못하고 있다. 이 연구의 목적은 복합 양식 문식성(multimodal literacy)과 관련된 구체적인 내용 교수 지식을 텔레비전 기상 보도 텍스트를 통해 제안하는 것이다. 텔레비전 기상 보도 프로그램은 일상적인 복합 양식 미디어 텍스트로서, 현행 기상 보도는 전국 기온, 해상 날씨, 주간 날씨와 같이 주제를 중심으로 내용을 전개하고 있다. 이러한 방식은 깊이 있는 분석이 가능하다는 장점이 있으나 시간의 흐름을 거스르는 역행적 구성을 취할 수밖에 없다는 한계가 있다. 나아가 시청자들은 주제별로 반복되는 설명을 시간의 흐름에 맞게 재구성해야 하는 인지적 부담을 지게 된다. 대안적인 기상 보도 프로그램의 내용 구조는 시간의 순서에 따라 내용을 전개하되 분석의 깊이를 훼손하지 않도록 구성하는 것이다. 현행 기상 보도 텍스트의 특성을 분석하고 대안을 모색하는 활동을 교수·학습에 적용한다면 복합 양식 매체의 리터러시를 효과적으로 교육할 수 있을 것이다.

As the media developed, the ability to present using various visual materials became important communication skills. The curriculum emphasizes the ability to understand and express visual materials. However, it remains at the low level of common sense in the textbooks and teaching and learning. The purpose of this study is to develop teaching and pedagogical contents knowledge to strategies to analyze and utilize tables and graphs. This paper propose a learning method that utilizes television weather report as a Advanced organizer that students can easily understand. The structure of an alternative weather reporting program is to construct a dynamic statement so as not to undermine the depth of analysis, which is an advantage of static statements. Using eye tracking data from a group with excellent visual analysis skills and a lacking group as a leading organizer, students will be able to effectively teach visual interpretation strategies.
