본 연구는 공익광고를 활용한 한국어 교수 방안을 제안하는 데 목적이 있다. 그동안 한국어교육 분야에서는 공익광고 활용과 관련된 연구가 활발하게 이루어지지 못하였으며, 듣기 영역이나 초급 학습자에 한정된 수업 단계만 제안되었다. 이에 본고에서는 언어와 문화의 통합 교육을 지향하며 교수 내용과 대상 학습자를 확대하여 공익광고 활용 교육 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 1981년부터 2017년까지 제작된 방송 공익광고 320여 편의 주제와 빈도를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 주제는 크게 사회 공동체, 경제 사회·기타, 자연 환경, 가정·청소년, 공중 보건·복지로 구분되며, 경제 사회·기타 주제의 공익광고가 가장 많이 제작되었다. 이를 바탕으로 다양한 주제의 광고를 활용한 한국어 수업 활동을 구성하고 중·고급 숙달도의 중국인 학습자 12명을 대상으로 수업을 진행하였는데, 학습자들은 공익광고 활용 수업에 긍정적인 반응을 보였다. 수업 후 인터뷰를 통해 흥미 유발, 교육 효과가 크다고 판단한 어휘, 문법, 말하기, 읽기, 문화, 이상 5가지 활동을 본 연구에서 제시하였다. 이후 더 다양한 공익광고 활용 교수 방안을 제시하고, 공익광고의 교수효과를 증명하는 후속 연구가 이어지기를 기대한다.

The purpose of this research is to suggest a method of teaching Korean language by utilizing public advertisement. Research on utilization of public advertisement has not been actively conducted in the field of Korean language education, and related proposals have been limited to classes for listening skills or beginners. Thus, this study suggests the use of public advertisement by supporting integrated curriculum of language and culture and expanding the range of target learners. Approximately 320 public advertisements from 1981 to 2017 were analyzed on subject and frequency. Subject matters fell largely into social community, economy·society, natural environment, household·teenager, and public health·welfare. Korean classes that utilize public advertisements of various subjects were created and taught to 12 Chinese students at intermediate or advanced level. This research suggests activities which address five areas：vocabulary, grammar, speaking, reading and culture, which were determined to arouse interest the most and have educative results according to interviews with the students. Further research that explore innovative ways to incorporate public advertisement in Korean education and prove its effects should be undertaken in the future.
