본 연구는 주거환경만족도가 지역애착도를 매개로 하여 주민참여에 미치는 영향을 실증분석 하였다. 최근 진행되고 있는 도시재생사업에서는 지역 공동체 활성화가 주요 목표로 대두되고 있으며, 이는 곧 주거환경 개선을 통한 주민참여 증대를 의도한다. 또한, 지역애착도는 주민참여의 영향 요인으로 고려되고 있으며, 동시에 주거환경만족도의 결과 변수로 활용되고 있다. 이는 주거환경만족도와 주민참여 사이에서 지역애착도가 매개변수로 작용할 수 있는 가능성을 뒷받침한다.
이와 관련하여 본 연구는 주거환경만족도, 지역애착도, 주민참여에 대한 이론적 배경 및 선행연구를 검토하고, 서울시 자치구 주도의 도시재생사업 대상 5개 지역 중 '공동체 활성화'를 구체적인 목표로 제시하고 있는 서대문구, 성북구를 대상으로 온라인 설문조사를 실시하였다. 또한, 결과 해석과 관련하여 추가적으로 일반인 및 전문가와 심층인터뷰를 진행하였다. 분석결과, 주거환경만족도는 직·간접적으로 주민참여에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났으며, 세부적으로는 이웃 간 관계, 안전성, 사생활 보호 등을 포함하는 사회적 환경 만족도가 주민참여에 미치는 영향이 가장 큰 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 주거환경만족도와 주민참여 사이에서 지역애착도는 유의한 매개효과를 갖는 것으로 검증되었다. 본 연구에서 제시하고 있는 이러한 연구 결과는 주민참여를 제고하기 위한 주거환경개선 시 고려사항을 파악할 수 있다는 정책적 함의를 제공해준다.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of residential satisfaction on the citizen participation through local attachment. Recently in the urban regeneration, the community revitalization has become a major goal. In the process, citizen participation is becoming increasingly important. Also, local attachment was considered to be an impactful factor that can enhance the citizen participation. In this regard, this study examined the previous research on residential environment satisfaction, local attachment, and citizen participation. And we conducted online surveys for Seodaemungu and Seongbukgu that promoted community revitalization through urban regeneration. In addition, we conducted in-depth interviews with the general public and experts regarding factors of residential environment and local attachment. The empirical analysis showed that the residential environment satisfaction had direct or indirect effect on the citizen participation through the local attachment. In more specific, the social environment satisfaction including the neighbors relationship, crime level, privacy protection had the greatest effect on the citizen participation. The results of this study provided policy implication in that the priorities can be grasped when improving the residential environment satisfaction to promote citizen participation.
