본 연구는 지적장애학생 가족의 삶을 탐색하기 위해 4인 이상의 지적장애학생 가족을 목적적으로 표집하여 어머니를 대상으로 면담을 실시하였다. 본 연구 목적에 따른 연구방법은 생애사 연구방법으로 자료 수집은 일화 인터뷰(episodic interview) 방법을 이용하였고, 수집된 자료는 연구 참여자의 동의를 얻어 녹음한 뒤 전사과정을 거쳐 텍스트화 하였다. 자료변환을 거친 이후, Schutze의 생애이력의 과정적 구조분석 방법에 따라 분석하였다. 주요 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지적장애학생 가족의 생애이력을 지적장애학생의 출생 전부터 현재 시기까지 결혼초기, 유아기, 아동기, 청소년기로 나누어 가족의 삶에 영향을 끼친 긍정적·부정적인 경험을 탐색하여 현재까지의 생애 이력을 도식화하였다. 둘째, 지적장애학생의 생애이력의 구조를 제도화된 기대양식, 내적 아픔의 진행경로, 생애사적 행위 모델, 정체성 변화 등 4가지 구조로 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 지적장애학생 가족의 생애이력과 생애이력의 과정적 구조에 대한 포괄적인 이해를 돕고, 지적장애학생 가족을 지원하기 위한 다양한 방안에 관한 시사점을 제공할 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the life of family of students with intellectual disabilities through life history research. Episodic interview method was used for data collection. The collected data were recorded with the consent of the research participants and then the text did. The analysis was carried out according to the procedural structure analysis method of Schutze 's life history. The main results are as follows. First, the life history of students with intellectual disabilities is divided into early childhood, early childhood, childhood, and adolescence from prenatal to current period of intellectual disability students to explore positive and negative experiences that have affected family life. Second, the structure of life history of students with intellectual disabilities was analyzed by four types of structures: institutionalized expectation style, internal pain path, life historical events model, and identity change. The results of this study provide a comprehensive understanding of the life history of the students with intellectual disabilities and the process structure of their life histories and provide implications for various ways to support students with intellectual disabilities
