본 연구는 학교 안전에 대한 시각장애학교 교사의 인식수준을 조사ㆍ분석하여 학교 안전교육의 개선방안을 제공하는데 있다. 전국 시각장애학교 교사 199명을 대상으로 학교 안전에 대한 10개 설문문항의 응답을 SPSS프로그램 분석으로 도출된 결론을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 안전교육의 목적에서 30세미만 교사 및 40세이상 교사는 ‘사고예방을 위한 안전생활습관형성’, ‘안전 지식과 바른 판단력 습득’ 순으로 높게, 30세~40세미만 교사는 ‘사고예방을 위한 안전생활습관형성’, ‘사고발생 시 대처기술 습득’ 순으로 높게 나타났다. 시각장애 안전교육표준안의 필요성에서는 유ㆍ초등교사가 중ㆍ고등교사보다 높게, 30~40세미만 교사가 40세이상 교사보다 높게, 정안교사가 시각장애교사보다 높게 나타났다. 사고예방교육과정이나 안전교육활동 비중확대에서는 30세미만 교사가 40세이상 교사보다 높게, 교직경력 1~4년 교사가 15년이상 교사보다 높게 나타났으며 정기적인 교사 안전연수 필요성에서는 1~4년 교사가 15년이상 교사보다 높게 나타났다. 정기적인 부모 안전교육 필요성에서는 30~40세 미만 교사가 40세이상 교사보다 높게, 교직경력 1~4년 교사가 15년이상 교사보다 높게 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 추후 연구를 위한 시각장애 안전교육과정 개발과 안전전문가 협력방안에 대해 제언하였다.

The purpose of this study is to provide strategy for improving school safety. To accomplish this purpose, 199 teachers in school for the visually impaired answered the investigation. The questionnaire which contains 10 questions was developed, and IBM SPSS programs were used for this study. The results obtained by the investigation can be summarized as follows: For the purpose of safety education, teachers in their 20s and teachers over 40 years of age were recognized in expertise by building safety lifestyle and learning accurate judgement of safety in order of the purpose, teachers in their 30s were recognized in expertise by building safety lifestyle and ability to cope with the accidents in that order. On needs for the standard curriculum for the safety of the visually impaired, teachers in their 30s had higher awareness than teachers over 40 years of age, teachers of early childhood and elementary students had higher awareness than teachers of middle school students or higher, and sighted teacher had higher awareness than teachers with visual impairments. On needs for regular teachers training program of safety, teachers with 1-4 years teaching experience had higher awareness than teachers with 5-14 years teaching experience. On needs for regular education program on safety for parents, teachers in their 30s had higher awareness than the teachers who are over 40 years old, and teachers with 1-4 years teaching experience had higher awareness than those who have 5-14 years teaching experience.
