본 연구에서는 동화를 활용한 세계시민교육 프로그램이 초등 저학년 통합학급 학생들의 세계시민의식, 친사회성 및 장애학생의 규칙 지키기에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 2명의 자폐성장애 아동을 포함한 저학년 통합학급 학생 30명을 대상으로 프로그램을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 동화를 활용한 세계시민교육 프로그램은 총 12회기로 구성되었으며 연구자가 주 2회씩 연구 참여 학급의 창의적 체험활동시간에 실시하였다. 프로그램 참여 전후에 초등 저학년 비장애학생들의 세계시민의식과 친사회성에 유의한 변화가 있는지 확인하기 위해 대응표본 t검정을 실시하였으며, 장애학생들의 경우 친사회성 사전·사후검사 점수의 결과를 비교하였다. 또한 장애학생들의 규칙 지키기는 중재기간동안의 주별 규칙 지키기 수행률을 산출하고 주별규칙 지키기 수행률의 변화를 그래프를 통해 확인하였다. 그 결과, 첫째, 초등 저학년 비장애학생들의 세계시민의식은 프로그램 참여 전보다 유의하게 향상되었다. 둘째, 초등 저학년 비장애학생들과 장애학생 모두 친사회성에 긍정적인 변화를 나타내었다. 셋째, 초등 저학년 장애학생들의 규칙 지키기 수행률은 중재가 제공되는 동안 점차 증가하였다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 토대로 동화를 활용한 세계시민교육 프로그램의 긍정적인 영향과 관련된 요인들을 살펴보고 연구의 의의 및 향후 연구방향에 대한 제언을 제시하였다.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of global citizenship education program using fairy tales on the student’s global citizenship, pro-social behavior and rules compliance in inclusive elementary classes. The participants in this study were 1st and 2nd garde 30 students of C elementary school located in Seoul(2 students with disabilities and 28 students without disabilities). The global citizenship program consisted of a total 12 sessions and was implemented by a researcher. This study used an one-group pretest-posttest design to determine if global citizenship program using fairy tales would effects on global citizenship, pro-social behavior and rules compliance. The results of this study were as follows: First, students without disabilities in inclusive elementary classes, showed positive changes in global citizenship and pro-social behavior and this difference was statistically significant. Second, students with disabilities received a higher score in the pro-social behavior test than pre-test and showed positive changes in rules compliance. This study demonstrated that a global citizenship program using fairy tales was an effective method in enhancing the student’s global citizenship, pro-social behavior of and improving rules compliance of students with disabilities in inclusive elementary classes.
