이 연구는 경기도 A특수학교 중학교 과정 지적장애 학생 3명을 대상으로 「진로와 직업」교과와 「미술」교과의 교과 통합 수업이 진로탐색능력과 수업참여에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 두 교과에서 중학생의 진로발달 요소에 따라 관련 단원을 선정하고 자기이해, 직업의 세계, 진로의사결정으로 통합 단원을 구성하여 능동적 탐색활동과 구체적 체험활동중심의 학습 활동을 계획하였다. 사전-사후 설계로 진로탐색능력검사와 함께 주의 집중, 과제수행, 자발적 행동을 매 회기 관찰을 통해 측정하였다. 연구 결과, 참여 학생 모두의 진로탐색능력과 수업참여도가 향상되었다. 이 연구는 진로탐색 능력 향상을 위한 교과통합 모형으로서 「미술」교과를 「진로와 직업」 교과와 통합한 실천적 중재 사례로서 의의를 갖는다. 이와 함께 다양한 교과를 활용한 교과통합 수업의 모델이 시도되어 학교현장에서 보다 의미있는 진로교육이 실행되기 위한 방법적 논의를 제시하였다.
This study investigated the effects of “Career and Jobs” integrated with “Arts” lessons on career exploration and class participation of three middle school students with intellectual disabilities in a special school. Lesson units related with career development of middle school students were selected from the two subjects, and the lesson units were reorganized into categories of self-awareness, job areas, and career decision-making. Active exploration and concrete experiential activities were planned into the integrated lessons. A pre-and post test on career exploration was administered, and class participation data consisted of attention, task performance, and voluntary behaviors was obtained through consistent monitoring. Results showed that both career exploration and class participation were improved, This study provided an example of integrated subjects lessons using “Career and Jobs” and “Arts” and discussed practical implications for various efforts on integrated subjects lessons.
