이 연구에서는 현재 추진되고 있는 수능 체제 개편 및 대입 간소화 정책과 관련하여, 프랑스의 바칼로레이와 독일의 아비투어, 미국의 SAT, 일본의 대입제도 개혁 등 해외 대입 작문 평가의 동향을 살펴보고 향후 국가수준 대입 작문 평가 도입의 가능성을 검토하였다. 해외 대입 작문 시험 체제를 검토한 결과, 대입 작문 평가를 위해서는 상당한 재정과 시간이 투입될 필요가 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 채점 기준의 명확화와 채점자 신뢰도 제고 등 타당성과 공정성을 확보할 수 있는 채점 방안이 요구되며, 현 수능처럼 하루에 모든 시험을 마치기 어렵기 때문에 과목별 날짜 지정이나 공통, 선택형 별도 시험 등의 방안이 강구될 필요가 있다. 해외 대입 작문 평가 문항은 크게 유럽형과 비유럽형으로 구분할 수 있다. 유럽형은 대입전형에 결정적 역할을 하는 전형 도구로서 주로 철학적 주제, 쟁점에 대한 필자의 주관적 견해를 자유롭게 기술하도록 요구한다. 반면 비유럽형 중 미국의 SAT는 제시문에 사용된 추론, 표현 전략을 분석하도록 하며 일본의 대입공통테스트에서는 특정한 상황에서 자신의 입장을 약술하도록 하고 있다. 대입 시험에 대한 사회적 민감도가 높은 우리의 현실을 고려할 때, 향후 국내에서 대입 작문 평가를 도입한다면 채점의 객관성과 공정성을 담보할 수 있는 비 유럽형 평가가 보다 적절해 보이며 이마저도 대입 체제 개편을 통해 국가단위 대입시험의 부담이 완화될 때 가능할 수 있다고 보인다.

This study examines trends in overseas collage admission writing test such as Bacalore in France and Abitur in Germany, SAT in the United States, reform of the substitution system in Japan, The possibility of introducing the evaluation of substitutional writing was examined. As a result of reviewing test system, it was confirmed that a considerable amount of time and money was required to evaluate the written essay. In addition, it is necessary to provide a scoring method that can ensure validity and fairness, and it is difficult to complete all the tests in one day like the current CSAT. Therefore, It is necessary to take measures such as designation of dates by subjects or separate tests of common and optional. The writing composition evaluation items can be roughly divided into European type and non-European type. The European type is mainly requires that freely describe one’s subjective views on philosophical subjects and issues. On the other hand, non-European SATs in the United States analyze the reasoning and expression strategies used in the proposals, and Japan's common test is to outline their position in specific situations. Considering the fact that we have high social sensitivity to the entrance test, if we introduce the Korean Writing Assessment in the future, the non-European evaluation that can guarantee the objectivity and fairness of grading seems more appropriate. Moreover, It seems possible when the burden of the entrance examination is relaxed.
