본 연구의 목적은 사회 연결망 분석을 활용하여 2013년부터 2017년까지의 유아 STEAM 연구에 관한 양적, 질적 경향성을 파악하는 것이다. 이를 위해 국내·외 학술데이터베이스에서 ‘유아 STEAM(STEM)’, ‘유아 융합’, ‘유아 융합인재교육’의 키워드로 검색된 85편(국내 45편, 국외 40편)의 학술지 논문을 중심으로 연구 동향을 분석하였다. 경향성 분석을 위해 SPSS 18.0과 NetMiner 4.0을 활용하여 빈도분석, 연결 중심성 및 응집구조 분석을 실시하였다. 주요 분석 결과를 살펴보면, 첫째, 국내·외 모두 2013년을 기점으로 해마다 연구물이 늘어났으며, 2016년 이후 급증하는 양상을 보였다. 둘째, 연구방법의 경우 국내 연구는 양적연구(53.3%), 문헌연구(35.6%), 질적연구(11.1%), 혼합연구(0%)의 순으로, 국외 연구는 양적연구(40%), 혼합연구(30%) 및 문헌ㆍ질적연구(15%)의 순으로 나타났다. 셋째, 국내·외 연구 모두 ‘STEAM(STEM)’, ‘유아과학교육’, ‘예술융합교육’, ‘공학’ 등의 키워드에서 높은 연결 중심성을 보였다. 넷째, 국내 연구는 예술(미술, 음악, 무용 등), 문학과의 융합에, 국외 연구는 공학, 기술과의 융합에 관심이 높았다. 이상의 결과를 중심으로 연구의 시사점이 제시되었다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate research trends on STEAM education for young children from 2013 to 2017. To do this, 85 studies(45 domestic and 40 overseas) under keywords of 'STEAM(STEM) for young children', 'convergence and integration for young children' and 'convergence and integration education for young children education' have been analyzed by conducting frequency analysis, connection centrality analysis, and community structure analysis. The results from this study were as follows. First, domestic and foreign studies have increased each year since 2013, and there has been a rapid rise since 2016. Second, according to the results of the quantitative tendency of research methods, domestic studies were conducted in the following order: quantitative studies(53.3%), literature surveys(35.6%), qualitative studies(11.1%), and mixed studies(0%). On the other hand, foreign studies were performed in the order of: quantitative studies(40%), mixed studies(30%), and literature/quantitative studies(respectively 15%). Third, both domestic and foreign studies have shown high connection centrality in keywords such as 'STEAM(STEM)', 'Early Childhood Science Education', 'Art-Integrated Education' and 'Engineering'. Fourth, domestic research was interested in convergence of the arts(art, music, dance etc.) and literature, whereas foreign study was focused on integration of engineering and technology. The implications of the study were discussed on the above findings.
