본 연구는 다문화가정을 대상으로 다문화부부 간의 의사소통이 자녀의 일상생활적응에 미치는 영향을 파악하고, 다문화가정 어머니의 자아존중감에 대한 매개효과를 검증하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 경기도 안산시에 거주하는 다문화가정 중 다문화가정 어머니와 자녀 220명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 최종 204개의 설문지가 분석에 사용되었다. 분석방법은 인구사회학적 변인 분석을 위해 빈도분석, 기술통계분석, 상관관계분석을 실시하였고 매개효과 검증을 위해 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 다문화부부 간의 의사소통이 높을수록 자녀의 일상생활적응이 높아지는 정(+)적인 인과관계가 검증되었다. 둘째, 다문화부부 간의 의사소통이 높아질수록 다문화가정 어머니의 자아존중감도 높아지는 정(+)적인 인과관계가 검증되었다. 셋째, 다문화가정 어머니의 자아존중감이 높아질수록 자녀의 일상생활적응이 높아지는 정(+)적인 인과관계가 검증되었다. 넷째, 다문화부부 간의 의사소통이 자녀의 일상생활적응에 미치는 다문화가정 어머니의 자아존중감은 부분매개효과를 갖고 있는 것으로 검증되었다. 본 연구를 통해 다문화가정의 이주여성과 배우자, 자녀들을 위한 교육적 프로그램 개발의 필요성과 사회복지적 함의, 국가정책적인 차원에서의 함의를 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of multi-cultural marital communication on their children’s daily adaptation and the mediating effect of self-esteem between the two variables. The research subjects were multi-cultural parents at Ansan, Gyeounggi-Province. Among the 220 multi-cultural day care center children, 204 valid surveys were analyzed for the research. The data was analyzed with frequency and descriptive analysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, and mediating effect analysis. The results are as follow. First, the higher level of multi-cultural marital communication, the better the children’s daily adaptation. Second, it was verified that mothers showed higher levels of self-esteem when the marital communication enhanced. Third, the mediating effect of mothers’ self-esteem between multi-cultural marital communication and the children’s daily adaptation was valid. In short, the positive communication of the marital influenced mothers’ self-esteem leading to a positive effect on the children’s daily adaptation The study suggests an implication to develop an educational program for multi-cultural husbands, immigrated females, and their children, and an implication for social work and national policy.
