본 연구에서는 부모의 심리적 통제와 학령기 아동의 심리·사회적 적응의 관계에 대한 연구들을 분석하여 종합적인 결과를 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 최종 62편을 연구대상으로 선정하여 메타분석을 실시한 결과 총 1,001개의 상관관계 효과크기를 산출하였다. 자료의 코딩과 분석은 Excel 2013과 CMA 2.0을 활용하여 실시하였다. 분석 결과 첫째, 부모의 심리적 통제와 학령기 아동의 심리·사회적 적응변인 전체 간의 상관관계 효과크기는 .297로 나타났다. 둘째, 부모의 심리적 통제와 학령기 아동의 심리적 적응 변인 간 효과크기에서는 부적응적 완벽주의의 상관관계 효과크기가 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 부모의 심리적 통제와 학령기 아동의 사회적 적응변인 간의 효과크기에서는 학교적응의 상관관계 효과크기가 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 종합해보면, 부모의 심리적 통제는 학령기 아동의 심리·사회적 부적응의 각 하위변인들과 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 부모의 심리적 통제가 아동의 부적응에 대한 개입 시 중요하게 고려되어야 하는 변인임을 시사한다. 끝으로 본 연구의 의의와 한계점에 대하여 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze comprehensively between psychological control and psycho-social adjustment in school aged children by means of meta-analysis. A total of 62 research studies were sampled. From these studies, 1,001 effect sizes were correlated. CAM 2.0 and Excel 2013 were used to code and analyze the data. The results were as follows; first, a total effect size between parental psychological control and psycho-social adjustment in school aged children was .289. It was a mid-range effect size. Second, on the correlation effect size between parental psychological control and psychological adjustment in school aged children, maladaptive perfectionism was observed to be higher than the others. On the correlation effect size between parental psychological control and social adjustment in school aged children, school adjustment was higher than the others. To sum up, parental psychological control appears to be related to various aspects of psychological and social maladjustment amongst school aged children. This suggests that parental psychological control is a factor that should be considered important for intervention of child maladjustment. This study concludes with a discussion of the limitation of the current study as well as implications for further work in this field.
