Most of youth novels have described the personal conflict of young people or their trials and errors. However, the writer, Amy Yamada criticized the problems of educational sites in Japan and presented her own opinion by “I am poor at study”. It can be concluded that this Amy Yamada’s theme for the novel. Moreover, she emphasized on student’s personality and self-thinking ability in her work; it should be noted that it is similar to the idea of ‘Yutori Education’ in Japan.
