본 연구의 목적은 라디오방송이라는 근대적 연행 환경이 판소리에 가져온 변화의 한 양상을 규명하는 것이다. 1967년 동아방송(DBS)에서 제작ㆍ방송한 김연수(金演洙, 1907-1974) 창 연속판소리 <춘향가>, <심청가>, <흥보가>, <수궁가>, <적벽가> 등을 연구 대상으로 삼아, 프로그램 제작 및 방송에 관한 사실들을 조사하고 작품의 완성 과정을 살펴본 후, 라디오 연속방송이라는 조건이 텍스트와 연행 방식에 미친 영향을 분석했다. 본 연구의 대상인 동아방송 연속판소리 다섯 바탕은 김연수가 남긴 유일한 완창 녹음으로서, 현대 판소리의 주류들 중 하나로 자리 잡은 동초제 판소리의 원본에 해당된다. 그러므로 본 연구는 라디오라는 근대적 매체와의 만남이 판소리에 어떤 변화를 가져왔는지를 탐구하는 작업인 동시에, 현대 판소리에 지대한 영향을 미친 김연수 판소리의 특질과 지향이 라디오방송이라는 근대적 연행 환경과 어떻게 연관되는지를 탐구하는 작업이기도 하다.

The goal of this study is to find out what kind of changes the radio, which was the most powerful medium in the modern times, brought to pansori. The selected objects of this study are the series-pansori Chunhyangga, Simcheongga, Heungboga, Sugungga, Jeokbyeokga which were produced and broadcast by DBS in 1967. This study includes a research on the production and broadcasting of the above mentioned works, an examination of the process of adaptation, and an analysis of the effects of radio series form on pansori. The singer, who arranged and performed the series-pansori Chunhyangga, Simcheongga, Heungboga, Sugungga, Jeokbyeokga, is Kim Yeonsu(金演洙, 1907-1974), the originator of Dongchoje, which is one of the mainstreams of today's pansori. Therefore, this study would have significance not only as it determines some effects of radio on pansori, but also as it reveals the relationship between the characteristics of Kim Yeonsu's pansori and radio broadcasting.
