이 논문에서는 <심청가>를 통해, 부모화된 아이의 문제적 특성과 그것의 활용을 통한 치료적 가능성을 조망하였다. <심청가>는 우리의 대표적인 고전으로 많은 사람들의 사랑속에서 끊임없이 재창작되고 있다. 이처럼 <심청가>가 많은 사람들의 관심을 받을 수 있었던 것은 다른 작품에 비해 서술자의 의식대로 감상자를 이끌어가는 힘이 월등하며, 감상자의 의식 변화를 유발시키기에 매우 유용한 자료이기 때문이다. <심청가>에서 심청이는 어린 나이부터 부모의 역할을 대신하면서 눈먼 아버지를 봉양한다. 우리 주변에서도 심청이와 같이 부모의 역할을 대신하는 아동들을 어렵지 않게 발견할 수 있다. 발달심리학에서는 이와 같은 아동을 ‘부모화된 아이’라고 한다. 심청이와 동일한 환경에 처한 아동의 문제점을 발달 심리학적 관점에서 이해하고 진단할 수 있었다면, 문학치료적인 관점에서 <심청가>가 동일한 문제를 갖고 있는 아동에게 어떤 의미를 줄 수 있는지 고찰할 수 있다. 심청이는 자신이 처한 환경 속에서 부모화된 아이의 전형적인 문제 행동을 보이고 있다. 그러나 심청이는 일반적인 ‘부모화된 아이’와는 구별되는 특성, 즉 자신이 처한 문제적 상황에서 능동적으로 벗어나는 면모 또한 가지고 있다. 부모화된 아이는 <심청가>의 작품서사를 통해 추체험하여, 훼손되고 완결되지 못한 자기서사를 보충, 강화, 통합하면서 건강한 자아를 형성할 수 있다. 이러한 결론을 통해 <심청가>의 효용성을 입증하였으며, <심청가>의 문학치료적 가능성을 전망하였다. 현재의 복지 차원의 지원은 부모화된 아이의 환경을 바꿔주는데 중점을 두고 있다. 즉 물리적인 차원에서만 접근할 뿐, 심리적인 문제에는 접근하지 못하는 실정이다. <심청가>를 통해 발견한 문학치료적 가능성은 교육 현장 및 복지 현장에서 부모화된 아이의 심리적 문제를 해결하는 데에 기여할 것이다.

This paper prospects the possibility of therapy through having a look at the problematic features of parental children in Simcheongga. Simcheongga is one of the most famous work, which has been continuously remade by many writers so far. In terms of the popularity of this work, it has a predominant power that leads readers to what the writer intend in intrinsically via the plot itself unlike other genres and it can be also valuable source to trigger the readers' consciousness change. Based on the story Simcheongga, the main character Simcheong had showed a great devotion to her blind father, having substituted for her parents. In reality, you can easily f ind the sort of children, who play the ir parents' role. According to the theory of developmental psychology, the children are called as parental children. Regarding parental children who are at a similar situation to Simcheong, we can have a better understanding of their problems when applying those to the theory of developmental psychology. The character Simcheong shows the typical problematic behaviours of what parental child is normally represented. On the other hand, it also has a positive aspects like having put up with all hardships, which is unlike other typical parental children. Parental children can become aware of themselves, even they can have a strong ego by the Epic of Literary. In doing so, the children can form a proper self-identity through, aka nachleben with supplementing, being strengthen and comprising Epic of self which is not yet impeccable. In relation to the perspective, the result verifies the effectiveness of Simcheongga and it suggests the possibility of literary therapy as well. The current support focused more on welfare, including effort on making their environment better. That is, the sort of effort is just a superficial approach without pondering the intrinsic psychological issues. Therefore, the possibility of the therapy by a literature Simcheongga will definitely shed light on addressing the problematic issues of parental children in terms of psychological perspectives.
