오늘날 국경의 경계를 무색케 하는 이주가 빈번해졌고, 노동의 지구화가 가속화되고 있다. 이런 경향은 최근 한국사회에서도 급속하게 증가하고 있다. 이에 다문화사회에 대한 연구도 매우 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 지금까지의 연구 성과는 다문화사회를 이해하고, 다문화사회로 인해 발생하는 문제를 해결하는데 기여한 바가 크다. 그러나 기존 연구는 다문화사회에서 발생하는 구체적인 문제에 대한 해결책을 모색하는데 초점을 맞추고 있다. 본 연구자는 기존 연구의 성과를 인정하지만, 다문화사회의 문제 해결을 위한 근본적인 해결책을 제시하는 데는 한계가 있다고 본다. 왜냐하면 기존의 연구 성과는 현대사회를 지배하고 있는 근대적 세계관으로 다문화사회의 문제를 바라보기 때문이다. 오늘날 근대적 세계관은 다문화사회가 직면하고 있는 문제를 해결할 수 있는 관점을 제시하지 못하고 있다. 이런 관점에서 본 연구는 다문화사회가 직면하고 있는 위기를 해소할 수 있는 세계관을 『주역』의 화풍정火風鼎괘에서 찾아보고자 한다. 화풍정괘의 정鼎은 음식을 삶는 도구인 솥을 상징하고 있다. ‘솥의 용도는 물건을 변혁시키는 것’이라고 한다. 즉, 솥은 무엇을 익숙하게 하는 것으로 온고溫故의 도道라고 할 수 있다. 변화된 세계관에 자기 자신과 다른 사람을 익숙하게 적응하도록 하는 것이 바로 정괘의 뜻이다. 이에 정괘는 다문화사회로의 사회변화에 직면하여 우리가 어떻게 인식하고 대응해야 할 것인지에 대한 답을 제공해 줄 수 있을 것이다. 이 논문에서는 먼저, 한국사회의 다문화정책의 문제점에 대해서 분석해볼 것이다. 다음으로 정괘의 세계관적 특징에 대해서 살펴볼 것이다. 마지막으로 정괘의 각 효사를 통해서 다문화사회가 직면하는 구체적인 문제에 대한 해결책을 모색해볼 것이다. 이 논문은 다문화사회의 문제를 극복하기 위한 오늘날의 다문화정책의 한계를 분석하고, 이를 해결하기 위한 새로운 세계관과 방법을 모색하는데 기여할 것이다.

Nowadays migration is rapidly increasing and the globalization of labor is being accelerated. This trend is same in Korean society. Therefore, research on multi-cultural society is activated in Korea. The existing results of research have contributed to understand and solve the problems of Korean multi-cultural society. But the limitation of the existing results of research is that they are confined to resolve the concrete problems of multi-cultural society. I recognize the meaning of the existing results of research. But the investigation of the ways of fundamentally solving the problems of multi-cultural society is needed. The limitation of the existing results of research is come from the world view of the researchers. Therefore, we need to explore a new world view which can provide the views to interpret the fundamental causes and to suggest the ways of fundamental solving of the problems of multi-cultural society. In this sense, we are looking for a new world view in Ding(鼎) in I-Ching. Ding(鼎) in I-Ching symbolizes the East Asian traditional caldron made of cast iron. The use of this is to transform the diverse chopping block. Therefore, Ding(鼎) in I-Ching can provide wisdom of how diverse culture can be transformed and harmonized. In this paper, the problems of the multi-cultural policy of Korean society is analyzed. Next, the characteristics of world view of Ding(鼎) in I-Ching will be discussed. Finally, the ways of solving the problems of Korean multi-cultural society will be explored through Ding(鼎) in I-Ching.
