500만년 전에 지구상에 출현한 호모 사피엔스는 만년 전까지 열 명에서 100명 남짓의 혈연 공동체 집단으로 수렵채취를 하며 떠돌아 다녔다. 만년 전 농업 혁명이 일어난 후에는 한 곳에 정착하여 규모가 큰 혈연공동체 사회를 이루었다. 이는 점차 우세한 종족이 넓은 지역에 다수의 혈연공동체를 이루는 부족 사회가 발전하였고 5천년쯤 전에는 여러 부족이 하나의 왕권에 의해 지배되는 왕권 국가가 등장하였다. 왕권 국가는 5천 년간 큰 변화 없이 유지되다가 근대 사회, 지금으로부터 100여 년 전에 이르러 ‘국민국가’로 탈바꿈하면서 성, 인종, 종교, 언어에 따른 차별을 없애 질적인 통합을 이루었다. 근대 산업 혁명과 함께 과학과 기술이 기하급수적으로 발전하고 있고 있다. 이를 수학적으로 Singularity라고 한다. 20세기 후반에 발명된 컴퓨터와 인터넷의 정보 혁명은 다시 한 번 세계화의 심화를 가져오고 있다. 인간 삶의 영역은 종족 사회, 부족 사회, 왕권 사회, 그리고 근대의 국민 국가로의 확대되어 왔고 세계화는 그 연장이다. 이미 국가의 경계는 낮아지고 와해되고 있으며 세계의 문화는 융합하고 있다. 21세기 과학 기술의 기하급수적 발전이 세계화를 촉진시키고 있다. EU가 보여주듯이 인류 문명은 이미 국가간 통합의 시대에 들어섰으며 세계적으로 하나의 정부가 설립되는 날이 올지도 모른다.

Homo Sapience appeared on earth 5 million years ago. They wandered as a hunter and gather with 10 to 100 family members. With the advent of agricultural revolution, humans settled in one place and formed a bigger community. As the agricultural area and population grew, different communities clashed, and in the end, resulted in still the larger community dispersed in many areas. The tribal societies clashed and merged into a kingdom with manu tribes. And in modern world about a hundred years ago, the kingdom turned into a nation state where discriminations against sex, race, religion, and language were abolished, which is a qualitative integration of and expansion of people's life sphere. With modern Industrial Revolution, sciences and technologies developed exponentially, which is called 'Singularity' in mathematics. Information Revolution of Computers and internet developed late 20th century is expanding human life to the whole world, which is the extension of the process of expansion from clan society to tribal society, kingdom, and nation state. National borders are being lowered and breaking up in manu ways. In the 21th century, sciences and technologies are developing still faster and exponentially resulting in the acceleration of globalization. As EU shows, it seems that human civilization entered the age of merger of states and one global government may emerge in the future.
