우리사회에서 교육위기에 대한 사회적인 공감대가 형성된 것은 오래된 일이다. 교육에 대한 관심과 투자가 높아지는 반면, 교육에 대한 만족도는 떨어지고 있으며 교육현실에 대한 불만은 커지고 있다. 교육에 대한 관심이 높아지고 투자가 증가하고 있음에도 불구하고 상황이 호전되기보다는 더 많은 교육문제가 대두되는 이유는 무엇일까? 본 논문에서는 현대교육이 직면하고 있는 문제의 근본 원인은 시대적 요구에 부합하지 못하는 낡은 교육관이라는 점에 주목한다. 그로 인해서, 오늘날 교육은 심각한 위기에 직면하고 있다. 대표적인 교육위기의 실상은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 현대교육은 교육목표를 상실하였다. 둘째, 교육현장은 파괴되고 있다. 셋째, 교육적 인간상이 왜곡되고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 이상의 현대교육이 직면한 문제의 해답을 찾기 위해서, 먼저 공자의 교육관을 교육의 목표, 교육의 원칙, 교육의 방법으로 나누어서 살펴보고자 한다. 다음으로 공자의 교육적 인간상을 도道와 하나가 되는 인간, 복례復禮하는 인간, 공감하는 인간의 관점에서 모색해 보고자 한다. 마지막으로 공자의 교육적 인간상이 가지는 탈현대적 함의를 탐색해 보고자 한다.

It became long time that social consensus of educational crisis has formed in Korea. Concern and investment to education has increased. But satisfaction to education has fallen and discontents to education has heightened. What is the reason that more educational problems are arisen in spite of higher concern and more investment to education? In this paper, we focus on the old view of education which can not meet the requirement of the time as the fundamental cause of the current educational problems. As the results, today’s education is faced with the serious crisis. The current states of educational crisis are as follows. First, the modern education loose the educational goal. Second, the educational spot is been destructing. Third, the educational view of human being is distorted. In this paper, we will look for Confucious view of education to find the answer of modern educational crisis. We will describe Confucious view of education as educational goal, educational principle, and educational methods. Next, we will explain Confucious educational view of human being as human being becoming one with tao, human being recovering courtesy, and sympathizing human being. Finally, we will explore the post-modern implications of Confucious educational view of human being.
