본 논문은 『춘추』에 기록된 약 2,500여 년 동안에 발생한 자연재해와 자연 이상에 대해 체계적인 정리와 연구를 진행하였다. 『춘추』에 기록된 자연재해는 대략 148번이다. 이를 하늘의 현상, 땅의 현상, 기후의 현상, 물의 현상, 생물의 현상, 인체의 현상 등 6개 유형으로 정리하였다. 본 연구에서는 『춘추』가 세계역사상 최초로 자연재해를 체계적으로 기술한 저술임을 밝혔다. 그리고 그 기록의 내용이 풍부하고 연속적이며 체계적임을 지적했다. 나아가 자연재해를 기록하는 것이 『춘추』의 기본적인 내용 중에 하나라는 점을 또한 논증하였다.

The purpose of this paper is to arrange and study of natural disasters that were documented in Chun-Qiu. Natural disasters that were documented in Chun-Qiu are 148 times. I distributed them in six categories; phenomenon of sky, phenomenon of earth, phenomenon of climate, phenomenon of water, phenomenon of organism, and phenomenon of human body. In this paper, it is evidenced that Chun-Qiu is the first book in the world which describes natural disasters systematically. And I indicated that the contents of documents are fluent, continuous, and systematic. Moreover, in this paper, it is evidenced that one of main purposes of Chun-Qiu is to describe natural disasters.
