현대인은 누구나 행복한 가족을 꿈꾼다. 이 글의 목적은 현대인이 추구하는 행복한 가족을 비판적으로 조명해 보고, 새로운 행복한 가족론을 구성하는 것이다. 오늘날 현대인은 가족을 통해서 어떤 목표를 추구하고, 어떤 관계를 형성해야 하며, 주어진 상황 속에서 어떻게 대처해야 하는가에 대한 해답을 가지고 있지 못하다. 이 글은 그 해답을 『주역』에서 찾고자 한다. 왜 『주역』에서 행복한 가족론의 지혜를 구하고자 하는가? 그것은 『주역』이 생명력을 상실한 2000여 년 전의 고전이 아니라, 탈현대적인 해답을 제공해 줄 수 있는 창조적인 지혜의 보고寶庫이기 때문이다. 『주역』의 핵심적인 사상은 시중時中의 논리이다. 『주역』의 64개 괘와 384개 효는 시간과 공간적 상황에 따라 다르게 해석할 수 있다. 마찬가지로 『주역』의 모든 괘와 효는 현대사회에서 발생하는 교육학, 사회학, 윤리학 등의 질문에 창조적인 지혜를 제공해 준다. 이 글의 목적은 『주역』의 재해석을 통해서, 위기에 직면한 현대사회의 가족에게 행복한 가족에 대한 새로운 비전을 제시하고자 하는 것이다. 이 글은 세 부분으로 구성한다. 첫째, 현대사회의 가족관을 살펴보고 현대적 가족관을 바탕으로 하는 현대 가족의 문제점이 무엇인지 분석한다. 둘째, 『주역』의 7개 괘(風地觀, 火雷噬嗑, 山風蠱, 山火賁, 地澤臨, 地雷復, 天雷无妄)에서 현대 가족의 문제점을 극복할 수 있는 탈현대적인 관점을 발견한다. 셋째, 『주역』을 통해서 행복한 가족론을 논의하는 것이 갖는 탈현대적 함의에 대해 살펴볼 것이다. 이 글의 최종 목표는 새로운 가족관을 구상하는 것이다. 탈현대사회의 가족은 현대사회의 가족과 다른 기능을 담당할 것이다. 탈현대사회에서 행복한 가족의 목표는 사랑의 삶을 실현하는 것이며, 가족의 역할은 가족 구성원들이 사랑의 존재가 될 수 있도록 도움을 주는 것이다. 가족은 일종의 수행공동체의 특징을 가진다.

Every modern person wants to have a happy family. The purpose of this paper is to criticize the modern model of happy family and construct a new model. Modern people do not have any idea about what to pursue and how to make relations, how to deal with the given situation through family. This paper aims to find the answers in I-Ching for these questions. Why should the answer for happy family be found in I-Ching. The answer is clear. I-Ching is not a two thousand year old classic which lost its life force long ago, but a thesaurus of creative wisdom which can provide the post-modern answer. The essence of I-Ching is the logic of shi-chung. Sixty four gwae (trigram) and 384 hyo in I-Ching can be read differently according to the conditions of time and space. Thus, every gwae and hyo can provide creative answers for the questions of pedagogy, sociology and ethics. The purpose of this paper is to suggest a new vision of happy family through the reinterpretation of I-Ching. It is composed of the following three parts. First, the modern view of family is reviewed and the problems of modern family caused by the modern view of family are analyzed. Second, the post-modern view which can overcome the problems of modern family is introduced through the seven specific trigrams in I-Ching. Third, the post-modern implication of happy family through I-Ching is discussed. The final objective of this paper is to provide a new view of family. Family functions in the post-modern society are different from those in the modern society. The goal of family in the post-modern society is to realize the life fill with love. The role of family is to help family members to be a being of love. The new family has the characteristic of practicing community in a sense.
