소외 논의는 사회학의 중심 영역이다. 그러나 현실의 인간 소외가 심각함에도 현대 사회학에는 소외 논의가 빈곤한 실정이다. 이런 상황이 발생하는 근본적인 원인을 현대 사회학의 세계관적인 토대에서 찾을 수 있다. 현대 사회학이 사회학적인 인식을 위한 세계관적 토대로 삼고 있는 것은 현대 세계관이다. 그런데 소외 인식의 대상이 되는 현대사회 역시 현대 세계관의 바탕 위에서 발전해온 사회이다. 이것은 마치 기독교 세계관을 토대로 발전해온 서구 중세 말 사회의 소외를 기독교 세계관을 토대로 하는 신학이 인식할 수 없는 것과 마찬가지이다. 바로 이런 이유에서 본 연구는 통일체적 세계관의 바탕 위에서 현대 인간 소외에 대한 새로운 이론을 구성해 보았다. 본 연구가 다룬 내용은 네 가지이다. 첫째, 통일체적 세계관의 관점에서 ‘소외되지 않은 ‘정상적인 인간의 모습은 어떤 것인가’를 서술했다. 그것은 요약하면 ‘우주적인 존재’로서의 자신을 자각하고, 사랑에 충만해서 삶을 즐기는 인간이다. 둘째, 상기 기준에 입각해서 현대사회에서 인간 소외 양태를 살펴보았다. 본고에서 살펴본 현대 인간 소외 양태는 자아확장을 위한 투쟁으로서의 삶, 소비와 쾌락의 추구, 자아확장 투쟁에서의 패배 등 세 가지이다. 셋째, 통일체적 세계관의 바탕 위에서 현대 인간 소외 극복 방안을 논의했다. 본고가 제시한 소외 극복 방안의 핵심은 ‘우주적인 존재로서의 나’를 자각하는 것이다. 그리고 마지막으로 통일체적 세계관에 바탕 한 새로운 소외 이론이 갖는 탈현대적인 함의를 서술했다. 본 논의가 갖는 의미를 두 가지로 나누어 설명했는데, 하나는 이론적인 측면에서 현대 사회학의 위기 극복에 기여할 수 있다는 점이고, 다른 하나는 실천적인 측면에서 새로운 문명 건설의 초석이 될 수 있는 새로운 삶의 양식을 제시할 수 있다는 점이다.

The discussion on alienation is the core area of sociology but the modern sociology is overlooking this in spite of the seriousness of human alienation in reality. This problem comes from the world view of modern sociology. which cognizes the world on the basis of modernity. The modern society, the subject of which is the alienation, is the one that has developed on the modern world view. It is same that the theology that is based on the world view of Christianity can not understand the alienation of Middle Ages that had developed on the basis of world view of Christianity. Given this, this paper attempts to construct a new theory of alienation of modern human beings on the foundation of the unified view of world. This paper discusses four main points. Firstly, the normal human being who is not alienated is described on the basis of unified view of world. This person can be stated as the one who realizes herself/himself as a universal being and who is filled with love enjoying the life. Secondly, the aspects of human alienation in modern society are examined. The human alienation can be seen in the life that constantly struggles to expand the ego, in the pursuit of spending money and pleasure, and in the losers in the battle of expanding ego. Thirdly, the ways of overcoming the alienation of modern human beings are discussed on the foundation of unified view of world. The key point suggested in this paper for the way of overcoming alienation is the realization of self as a universal being. Lastly, the implication of the new theory of alienation is stated in this paper. This is important in two ways: in the theoretical sense, the discussion can give an answer to overcome the crisis of modern sociology and, in practical sense, it can suggest a new way of life to construct a new civilization.
