이 논문은 노자사상을 구체적으로 논의하기에 앞서서, 『노자』의 전체 내용을 이해함에 글의 구조적 맥락과 그 내용의 중심 줄기를 어떻게 잡아낼 것인가를 논의한다. 필자는 『노자』 전체 글의 구조적 맥락에서 1장·2장·3장·4장에 특별하게 주목한다. 1장은 ‘노자사상의 추상영역’에, 2장은 ‘노자사상의 다리영역’에, 3장은 ‘노자사상의 현실영역’에 해당하며, 4장은 이러한 1장·2장·3장의 내용을 총괄적으로 포괄하여 담고 있는 ‘보이지 않는 그릇’ 그리고 끊임없이 이어지고 이어지는 ‘그 어떤 무한한 작용’으로서 도道의 이미지를 보여 주고 있다고 보았다. 나아가 이것은 기起·승承·전轉·결結의 문맥흐름을 보여 주고 있는 ‘한 묶음글’로서 노자사상의 핵심을 농축해서 일목요연하게 보여 주면서 『노자』 전체를 아우르며 총괄하는 <머리말>이 된다고 보았다. 덧붙여서 이와 관련된 유소감劉笑敢의 변증법적 『노자』 해석에서 4가지 명제를 참고하여 논의하였고, 이러한 논의를 바탕으로 기起·승承·전轉·결結을 A·B(Ba+Bc)·C·D로 표기하여 5장부터 81장까지를 분류하고 정리하면서, 필자의 주장을 다시 강조하였다.

This article studies how to grasp structural context of sentences and main basement of thought in 『Lao-tzu』. I pay attention to Chapter 1·2·3·4 at structural context of sentences in 『Lao-tzu』. Chapter1 is abstract-domain, Chapter2 is linkage-domain, Chapter3 is reality-domain, Chapter4 shows that the image of Tao(道) are both ‘invisible container’ including the domains of Chapter 1·2·3 and endlessly continuously ‘infinite operation’. And Chapter 1·2·3·4 shows sentence system linked by the introduction(A)·the development(Ba+Bc)·the conversion(C)·the summing-up(D), so it be assumed that Chapter 1·2·3·4 are Preface of 『Lao-tzu』 summarized as essentials of Lao-tzu’s thought. A Dialectic interpretation about 『Lao-tzu』 by Liu Xiaogan (『Lao-tzu’s philosophy』 chapter5) serves as a good reference to explain the development(Ba+Bc) and the conversion(C). In the end, According to A·Ba·Bc·C·D as sentence system, I classified and arranged from Chapter5 to Chapter81 in 『Lao-tzu』.
