In this paper, we considered the current status of scenario translation and ways to improve the joint film between Korea and China. To this end, the differences between scenario translation and literary translation and video translation were analyzed. It also looked at the current development patterns of the Korea-China joint film scenario. We used the example to analyze the problems of translating scenarios for the Korea-China joint film. The problems of scenario translation were further analyzed by classifying them into three parts: cultural context, direction translation, and dialogue translation. Currently, joint films between Korea and China are very developed, but there are very few studies and very few experts involved. In addition, the government and academic circles are not interested in the project and support is very insufficient.
As can be seen in the analysis through the example, there are many problems with the current interpretation of the Korea-China joint film scenario, including the question of cultural acceptability, direction translation and the suitability of the translation of the dialogue.
In order to address these problems and to promote the continuous development of the Korea-China joint film, improvement was proposed in various aspects, including fostering relevant experts, conducting joint research among academic institutions, and joint participation by translators and writers.
Although this paper discussed the various practical issues of translating scenarios for a joint film between Korea and China, it is thought that there are limitations due to the lack of an overall coverage.
We hope that there will be many diverse and practical studies related to the scenario translation of a major joint film.
