This study explores the effects of an augment reality-based Science Education STEAM Program, whose contents are mainly focused on the theme ‘Weather and Life’. The student participants were divided into two groups according to their intelligence quotient and academic achievement in science, 18 students being in the experimental group and 15 students being in the control group. In addition, 4 teacher participants were assigned to the experimental group and 3 to the control group. While the Science Education STEAM program was implemented for the experimental group, the control group was taught science with electronic textbook materials. The intervention program was conducted in 16 sessions, about two to three class sessions per week, and the teachers used standardized lesson plans and worksheets. The effects of the Science Education STEAM program on students were analyzed in terms of the differences in their classroom atmosphere, student's learning concentration level, and activeness in science classes. Data was analyzed using Easy Class Analysis Program(ver 3.54). The research findings regarding the effects of the SESP on science class can be summarized as follows. First, there has been a significant difference in lesson atmosphere in science between the control and the experimental group. This suggests that integrating the Science Education STEAM Program into science classes is more effective than just utilizing electronic textbook materials in improving teacher-student interactions. Second, there has been a significant difference in student's learning concentration level between the control and the experimental group. This explains that the Science Education STEAM Program can be an effective tool to help students improve their learning concentration level and engage more actively in science classes. Third, there has been a significant difference in students’ activities in science classes between the control and the experiment group. This implies that the Science Education STEAM Program has been helpful in improving students’ various activities, leading to the increase in students’ engagement in lessons.
