본 연구는 인식론적 신념, 읽기 전략에 대한 상위인지 그리고 다중관점 읽기 간의 구조적 관계를 살펴보는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 통해 다중관점 읽기에 영향을 미치는 요인 간의 관계를 밝히고, 다중관점 읽기 교육에 대한 시사점을 논의하고자 하였다. 경기도 내 중·고등학교 1학년 학생 189명을 대상으로 인식론적 신념 검사도구, 읽기 전략에 대한 상위인지 인식 검사 도구, 다중관점 읽기 수행지를 통해 자료를 수집하고 구조방정식을 활용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 인식론적 신념은 읽기 전략 상위인지에 직접적인 영향을 미친다. 둘째, 인식론적 신념은 다중관점 읽기에 직접적인 영향을 미친다. 셋째, 읽기 전략 상위인지는 필자의 관점을 평가하고(관점 평가), 자료 출처의 신뢰성을 고려하여 자신의 관점을 구성하는 능력(관점 구성)에 직접 영향을 준다. 넷째, 인식론적 신념은 읽기 전략 상위인지를 매개로 하여 다중관점 읽기의 관점 평가와 구성에 간접적 영향을 미친다. 본 연구는 인식론적 신념과 읽기전략 상위인지가 다중관점 읽기에 직접적 영향을 미치는 요인이면서, 인식론적 신념이 읽기 전략 상위인지를 매개하여 다중관점 읽기에 간접적인 영향을 미친다는 사실을 밝혔다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the structural relationship among Epistemic beliefs, Metacognitive Awareness of Reading Strategy and Reading of Multiple Viewpoints. Epistemic beliefs are associated with reading performance. They influence students’ approaches to the strategies and metacognitive that students use. Epistemic beliefs affect Reading of Multiple Viewpoints, too. The subjects of this study were 189 middle school and high school students. The survey instruments were SOPE-r, MARSI, Task for Reading of Multiple Viewpoints. The statistical method employed for data analysis was SEM analysis by AMOS 21. The main results of this study are as follows：1) Sophisticated epistemic beliefs directly affects the Metacognitive Awareness of Reading Strategy. 2) Sophisticated epistemic beliefs directly affects the Reading of Multiple Viewpoints. 3) Metacognitive Awareness of Reading Strategy directly affects the Reading of Multiple Viewpoints(author’s viewpoint evaluation and self-perspective reconstruction). 4) Sophisticated epistemic beliefs have an indirect effect on Reading of Multiple Viewpoints through Metacognitive Awareness of Reading Strategies.
