본 논문은 한국 개신교의 성육신, 원수사랑, 예배의 의미를 틱낫한의 ‘상호존재’(interbeing)의 시각으로 재조명 하는 것을 목적으로 한다. ‘상호존재’는 달라이라마와 더불어 세계 2대 성불로 존경 받는 베트남의 선승 틱낫한이 불교의 전통적 개념인 연기(緣起)와 공(空)을 대중친화적인 현대적 용어로 순화한 용어이다. 전통적인 서양의 신학구조는 하느님을 저너머의 공간에 좌정해 있는 ‘존재’(being)로 상정하고 신과 세계, 초자연과 자연, 초월과 내재를 분리하여 파악하는 실체론과 이원론에 의거한다. 이러한 구조에서는 성육신, 원수사랑, 예배의 개념도 이원화된 방식으로 이해될 수밖에 없다. 본고는 서양의 이원론의 구조에서가 아닌 틱낫한의 상호존재에 의지하여 성육신, 원수사랑, 예배를 비이원론적인 구조에서 새롭게 고찰하고자 한다. 그럼으로써 실체론과 이원론에 기초한 서양 전통 신학의 성육신, 원수사랑, 예배의 요소에서는 함의되지 않은 새로운 의미를 틱낫한의 상호존재를 통해 찾아보고자 한다.

This paper aims to re-examine the meanings of incarnation, love of enemy and worship of Korean Protestant churches with the viewpoint of "interbeing" of Thich Nhat Hanh. "Interbeing" is a term refined by the venerable Thich Nhat Hanh of Vietnam, who is respected as the world's second holy Buddhism with the Dalai Lama, in terms of Buddhism's traditional concepts of dependent co-arising(緣起) and emptiness(空) in a popular and friendly modern term. The traditional Western Christianity is based on the dualism and the substantialism that sees God as a 'being' that are left outside and sees God and the world, the supernatural and nature, the transcendence and the immanence separately. In such a theological structure, the concepts of incarnation, love of enemies, and worship are to be understood in a dualized way. In this paper, we will examine the incarnation, love of enemy and worship in a non-dualistic structure by relying on "interbeing" of Thich Nhat Hanh, not in the structure of the traditional Western dualism. Thus, we try to find a new meaning that is not implied in the elements of incarnation, love of enemy and worship of western traditional theology based on substantialism and dualism through "interbeing" of Thich Nhat Hanh.
