셰익스피어의 소네트는 순수한 사랑과 양성적 매력을 주제로 지난 400여 년 동안 다른 예술장르에 지대한 영향을 주었지만, 그것에 내포된 동성애적 성향 때문에 전체 시의 일부만 인용되었다. 또한 연구자들은 이 시의 헌정대상이 누구인지에 주된 관심을 가져왔었으나, 시인의 전기적 사실에 대한 명확한 정보가 극히 미미한 상태에서 더 이상의 심층적인 논의는 불가능했다. 하지만, 이 소네트의 텍스트에 기초하여 창작된 영화들이 학계에서 소홀하게 다루어졌던 부분을 언급하고 있으며, 이것은 영화 상호텍스트성의 존재를 설명해준다. 이 논문의 목적은 셰익스피어의 소네트에 나타난 동성애적 경향과 관련하여 그의 전기적 사실을 재고하고, 영화들의 상호텍스트적인 내용을 통해서 새로운 생각을 제시하는 것이다. 그 방법으로서 Ⅰ은 이 시에 대한 새로운 논점을 예시하고, Ⅱ는 화자의 성적 경향에 대한 기존의 견해들을 소개하고, 시 장르의 속성과 전기적 배경을 감안하여 재분석한다. 다음으로 Ⅲ은 텍스트를 각색하거나 패러디한 영화들을 통해 영화 상호텍스트성으로 재현된 상황을 논한다. 그 결과 시인이 집을 떠난 이유, 런던으로 가족을 이주시키지 않았던 사연, 성행위가 없는 동성애의 성립여부, 양성애자의 이율배반성 여부, 출산을 강조했던 내막 등 새로운 논제에 대해 타당한 추측이 가능하게 된다. 나아가 Ⅳ는 이 시가 영화 상호텍스트성 원전으로 발전할 가능성을 진단한다. 마지막으로 이 글이 소네트의 연결성을 통해 학문적인 영화의 생산을 모색하는데 기여하기를 바란다.

This paper aims to reconsider Shakespeare’s biographical facts related to the homophile aspect of his sonnets and present new ideas through the contents of intertextuality of some films. As a method, Ⅰ forecasts new issues about this poetry, and Ⅱ introduces current opinions of the narrator’s sexual tendency, reanalyzing them given the attributes of poetic genres and the biographical background. Next, Ⅲ discusses the situations represented by the film intertextuality through the movies dramatizing and parodying the text. Conclusionally, there can be reasonable assumption regarding why the poet left home, why he did not move his family to London, whether the homosexual relationship is possible without a sexual act, whether a bisexual person’s action is antinomic, and what the inside story of emphasizing childbirth is. Moreover, Ⅳ diagnoses if it is possible that this poetry will be developed into an original text of film intertextuality. Lastly, this paper is expected to contribute to finding a way to produce educational films with the help of the connectivity of sonnets.
