The purpose of this study is to examine how Korean language life education is developed in grammar education and to discuss future direction. For this purpose, this study examined the discussion on the contents of Korean language life education in academic discourse. Educational contents that can be included in Korean language life in grammar education are related to norms, correct use of Korean, and abundant use of Korean language.
As the curriculum was developed in integration, it was found that the contents related to Korean language life were reduced or not appeared on the surface. As a result, it was confirmed that Korean language learning activities were weakened in the Korean language textbooks. In particular, understanding grammar knowledge and implementing learning activities in actual language life. This confirms that 'actual' can be subordinated to 'knowledge'.
Finally, the future direction of Korean language life education was sought in educational evaluation. It is suggested that the transition from the paper based evaluation to the performance evaluation method is required as a new measure for the Korean life education evaluation. And also the diversification of the performance evaluation method should be promoted by introducing experiential performance evaluation and project performance evaluation.
